The Doo pilots work great for trail riding, and thats a pretty good deal. They should just bolt on. It all depends what kind of performance you are looking for in skis. there are a ton of them out there,I have ran Simmons,Doo Precisions,Doo Pilots, C&A Razors, and i am currently running the SlyDog Powder Hound Skis. They all worked great, and i liked all for different reasons, imo they are all night and day better than stock Yamaha skis.VIPER TIM said:I'm in the same boat, original skis are in rough shape. Local shop suggested the Doo Pilot skis, even had a good deal on them $240 with 6" carbides. I am considering OE saddleless skis simple bolt on and cheaper.

Most people replace the stock skis within 200 miles of the purchase they are such terrible skis, you got 6k out of your stockers so you get an award.mtnsun said:My factory skis have 6000 miles and they are pretty beat. Time for new ones and I was wondering what aftermarket performance skis are recommended for
the 02 Viper. Seems to be 3-4 brands out there. Who likes what?
Just FYI, Hondo fell in love with Curves only after he joined their staff (i.e., payroll). During his high mileage journies he used Yammi Saddleless Mountain skis, which are excellent skis if they are shimmed and installed with decent carbides. They have a really tall keel, which is my theory why they are great skis. I used them for 2 years on my Attak, until i swapped them out for Simmons Flexi-skis, and may soon swap back to the saddleless mountain skis.Maim said:well, i am taking hondo's reccomendation this year. he tried the curve skis (site sponsor) and said they are the best ski he has tried to date.
