Help - I installed a studded track - Secondary Clutch Issues

Hopefully someone can help me here.
(Yes I know I have my SRX for sale, but not to worry, i will not sell it unless I figure this out, and no I was not selling it because of problems)
OK, now that I have my disclaimer out of the way, i have a 1999 SRX700, that was a absolute rocket last year, it has aftermarket Hi-Tech clutches on it, and it back shifted better than any SRX I have owned, i was so fast that I decided to put a studded track on it this summer, and rebuilt the suspension, and new bearings in the chain case, etc, etc.
Everything was service this year, carbs cleaned, (stock Jets). I decided since we had 2 inches of snow, i wanted to try the new track before I sold the sled. however here is the issue.
The first past down my yard all seemed OK, but the rpm took a little to climb to where it needed to be, back to the gargage, it got worse. one more pass, and the belt was slipping, I looked and it is traveling down the secondary clutch to fast. I thought the secondary may have been sticking so I took it apart, and cleaned and polished everything, all looks fine, took it for a spin around the yard, leaving the heated garage, all was ok first pass, second time belt still travels down the secondary to fast, I adjusted the spring to full stiff on the adjustment, and no improvement. on the stand everything seems to work fine, but once it is hooked hard there are issues.
My question is with the studded track should I need to change secondary springs, or change the helix or what could have changed between last year and this to cause this issue, the only thing i can think of is the sled hooks harder. I have 192 studs, and it is geared down to a 21 tooth top gear. I removed the belt, there is very little drag on the track, so i don't think i have a binding issue.
I have a #52 Helix, and a gray spring. It is in the #4 hole, full tight on the adjustment.

how tight is your chain, track and are the breaks free, if the trak is off the ground and you spin it by hand. sounds like something is binding to me
 
With your belt off pull up on the inner shieve and check tenshion.Is the spring in the proper hole on the bottom?If it tight remove sring and try face plate on the shaft for binding or worn bushing.Also check bearing behind seconday.
 
Toolman, how do you like the E.R. Kit? i was considering it a while back but have mixed opinions... is your primary stock?
 
toolman, your using a straight 52 deg helix? way way too much helix for you. you need nothing more than a straight 48 on that hi-tech....if you want a straight angled helix. the bang-on helix and spring combo for you, i have. its a custom cut multi-angled helix and spring. what weights and primary spring are you running? no need to sell that sled, as i can help you make it rock. are you sure the power valves are all working/adjusted properly? also, are the rollers on the secondary in good condition? no flat spots? your spring sounds like a polaris silver/blue, which tends to loose its memory quickly. if you don't want that hi-tech, i'll take it off your hands for ya. i love those things. i have stock secondaries here to sell you, if you need one. change your gearing to 23/38. no less than 22/38.

yep, the spring cover is adjustable. see the longer slot? also, you can see the many spring hole locations. arctic cat springs are the ticket w/these things.

took the belt off and everthing moves freely. actually the track is a little loose, if I get on it hard, it skipd 1 tooth, i actiually need to tighten things a little.

Everthing moves freely, I dissasembled everything and cleaned it all, everthing worked fine last year without the studded track, it used to spin the track, now that it is hooked is when I have the issues.

I loved it last year, it back shifts faster than the stock one, it just rocked. that's why this makes no sense.

not shure what you mean by straight? It has curve to the ramp. I loved the gearing last year, 21/37. everything worked just great before. now that it is hooked, the belt is traveling down the secondary to fast. I wonder if I can add a 1/3 turn of pre-load into the spring, and make it stiffer? By the way, the only reason I am even considering selling is I have 3 more sleds, 03 RX-1, 04 Warrior, 05 RX-1. This sled beat the pants of those last year on the bottom end.

i'm not professionel went its time for specs but they have compression and torsion pressure ...sounds lile belt fall in the secondary sheave but ask turk he will give u a good points about it.....
 
sounds like went u try to use heel clicker with a red stock secondary spring ... not enough side pressure and it shift to fast and belt slip and than it heat the clutch ....
