FINALLY the winter we've waited for???

I live about 5 miles N of Madison, WI. It looks like about 2/3 of the state is gonna get hammered with at least 5-6" They're saying 10-12" here, only about 4-5" on the ground now, trails should open up again tomorrow.

you'll be way ahead of me then....especially last year all the snow stayed in southern Ontario, this year we had an amazing start that all but disappeared in 30 hours

one good thing is the base and lake ice will be better off now, we were borderline too muchy snow before the rain...it was crazy

Well, we have been getting dumped on today. Looks like around 10 inches so far.

The roads are so bad our normally full parking lot at work has only 5 vehicles in it. My lifted Grand Cherokee, another grand cherokee, a wrangler, a cherokee, and rick got in with his 4wd silverado.

Many people with 4wd didn't even show up.

Granted, we were told we could work from home, but I have stuff I need to get done at the office that I can't do at home.

WOOOHOOO!!!! We got PLASTERED today! It's still blowing 60-80KM winds!!! It started at 8AM ish, and within an hour we have 2-3"!!!! There are 3-4 FOOT drifts!!!!!!! We got a 12-14" solid base with drifts everywhere! Supposed to go all night, and then a a few more inches on Sunday and again on Tuesday!!!!! WOOOHOOO!

Too god damn bad my sled is awaiting the arrival of some parts!!!!!!!!

we got a solid 11inches here, early this morning it was coming down at about 2 inches an hour.. wow. I decided not to break trail. wait till tomorrow, theres alot of people i saw on the trails when i was on hwy 60.

2-4 inches coming saturday night.

I put about 100 miles on today, started my trip over off of granville and headed to Pdq to gas up, then headed over to saukville, then from there to newburg, over to westbend airport then back down to jackson then over to richfield stopped at rustys pub n grub for some eats, then went to Germantown, and then headed back to jackson.

Help two guys get unstuck, saw two polaris' with the hoods up on the side of the trail,
helped one guy flip his sled back over. that was that.

Trails are never really in smooth around here, there really are no straits except for a few fields etc. Bumpy trails. this is how it has been every year, big snow fall, then the trails open and everyone gets out there before the groomers, did come up on a groomer and rode about 15 miles of groomed trails, but that is where i saw the most snowmobilers, they must of saw the groomer and wanted to get on the trail, the trail was smooth but it wont be for long.

I got 6 inchs yesterday and now calling for up to 2 feet of snow here tomarrow.

I wont be riding for a while out plowing town roads then hauling it off

Yamidude, I had to run out to Cabela's to P/U a gift for my dad, and I saw the trails all along 60. That mental image alone reminded me why I keep my sleds up north. BUMPY!!!
And no groomer evidence at all.

Is your SRX Long travelled?

Either way, you had more fun than I did today.:)

my srx is not long travelled, i like riding, weather its good or bad trails, just love gettin out there, its not as nice around here as i would like, but i take it easy on the real bumpy stuff for my suspensions sake and my back, i always look forward to up north trips because they are funded better for trails.

My buddies dad is in charge of grooming around the monticello area, once the snowmobilers get out there in the first snow before the groomers, its bumpy as F**K and even the groomers can't fix that, i think the groomers down here could use an upgrade, they don't really have the technology/sweet groomer sets that they do up north.
