should I tear the motor completely apart?
took the center piston out
cylinder looks like it was hot all around
piston melted exhaust side off and rings came aprt & hit head etc..
I think the cylinder will clean up fine, but piston is needed
do I or should I split the case and what should I look for if I do?
never had the bottom of a 2 stroke apart before, have done several top end rebuilds. Was thinking maybe I should pull the bottom apart and do seals etc.. and what else should I check if I do tear it apart.
PS. 2002 viper w/peak head and CPR pipes

did the piston explode?if so my all means.it is super easy to split the bottom end!the only somewhat specialized tool needed is a steering wheel puller to get the flywheel off.i would recommend it to do the seals if they havnt been done before if nothing else.imo

how many miles?? if allot i would,,then you can check seals,bearings etc...

split the case, but the crank seems stuck in the upper half?
dont want to us the BFH so any recomendations?
