definatly polaris!i rode them for many years without any major issues.i put 10k on a indy 650 and loved it!ive owned all brands and worked on all brands and can honestly say yamaha-88-91-phazer and older indys were bullit proof!

I am leaning toward buying a 2003 MXZX 440 for my son. The newer Yamaha's do not offer anything for him. He is now 15 currently rides a phazer long track.

IMHO, Polaris and Yamaha are tied for #1.

Right now, if you want a 2 stroke, Polaris is the best bet, and for a 4 stroke, Yamaha.

Even before the 4 stroke switch, from 97-02 or 03 the poalris and yamaha 2 strokes were about equal, with Polaris offering more options, but Yamah doing very well with the fewer sleds they supplied.

Both are very reliable, look great, and are built well.

3rd would go to doo, and 4th to cat.

If it wasnt for yamaha i'd be on a ski doo.I love the big triples,i had a few improved stock 809 mach z's that i liked a lot.I still would really like to buy a nice 2003 mach z tech plus.

i didn't vote..

Tell ya the truth i really don't know.....all i've been since 1980 it yammie so
i wouldn't know whats good whats not..lol!!

Ski-doo and Polaris tied for me, RMK Assault is my favorite sled, I'd take it over anything!!! BUT im still a yamaha guy, its just that the Assault seems to be an amazing back-country sled. Skidoo is tied with poo, i like the fact of the weight, but man some of those XP's arent the best looking, but needless to say they are still nice, finally, Cat, the Z1 Turbo and the Crossfire 8 sno-pro are probably my favorite from them, but man those new f-series are UGLY AS HELL!!!!!!! they looks like friggin boots with headlights and skis, lol, Only reason i likes the Z1 Turbo is because of its stock 177 hp

Polaris I currently have a slightly modded 1996 Polaris Ultra SP 680 that runs really strong it will hang right with my SRX 700 but I am going to be clutching my SRX700 and hope that it makes it a no contest between the two

I really like some of the new Polaris', except everyone I know that has a '09 800 (mostly RMK's and 3 Assaults) are having some severe issues with them. ECU's are in need of reflashing (bad bog at 7 grand), clunking somewhere in drivetrains, and all three Assaults have 5+ lugs separating from the tracks at a time. I've ridden all of them, and if they had these issues worked out I'd like to pick one up. My buddies dad is and engineer at Polaris and they know about the ECU's needing reflashing and the 2010 models are going to be spot on. After riding the new Doo's, I like how they handle, but still question durability with my big a** bouncing around.

ski-doo for me..i actually questioning my favorite sometimes.ski-doo is taking this sport by storm & yamaha is just getting lost in the snow dust.

Polaris for me, guess that's why I own an 09 Shift 600 136 now too. Still love my SRX though. I have owned Skidoo, Polaris and Yamaha in all my years riding and I believe I own the two best brands right now.

:yrules:

Sorry I only know ONE....YAMAHA....

Besides the first sled I owned was a Doo, did not last one winter and the cranck was shot, after that I bought a Polaris, :o| :o| :o| I am glad I return it after I try to drive it into my garage and the thingy did not move, that one lasted about 2 hours (time that took me to drive it back to the seller's house). After that I went to a Yamaha dealer and felt in Love.

Regarding the brand I did not mention, we all know

Nick

I voted Polaris cause all we have in my family are Yamaha's and Polaris's. I have ridden a Mountain Cat though and was pretty impressed considering it was a 600 and it was not one of the obnoxious sounding ones. Never ridden a Ski-doo but if the experience my neighbor had with his I'd steer clear of owning one.

Doo all the way...I mean..how can you not say anything bad about them...they keep the competition(Yamaha included) moving forward...and they are Canadian aswell..BONG!!!

ANYTHING but arctic cat............. I've had one bad Polaris (94' 600 tripple) but the rest I've owned were solid machines. Skidoo had been good to my friends and family also. I DON'T have enough room to list all the issues we have had with Cats in the past though!!!
