Last year I purchased a 1997 Vmax 700 for my friends/girlfriend to ride with me, but the sled came with triple pipes and apparently had some clutch work done to it. I went back to the stock pipe set up as it was way too loud , but the clutch engages around 4500 rpms. I do have a stock 2002 Viper spring/helix laying around, along with a Hauck helix and secondary spring for my 2002 Viper, that I am not using. Am I able to just swap out the Helix and spring from my Viper into the Vmax? Just trying to make it more trail friendly.
Thanks in advance,
Rick

try to give the set up u got in it with weight spring someone will help u
Secondary spring & helix won,t do a thing for engagement.
you need the stock w-s-w stock yamaha primary spring.
you can,t use a tall cover primary spring in your short cover style clutch. You need the proper specific spring. nothing else will work.

Thanks for the info. I am understanding that it is the primary that controls the engagement rpms, and apparently the secondary does the backshifting. I will look for a stock spring.
