thanks for the info but which ski doo? or r they all the same and my track came off a mxz 600 1 clip every four holes with two closed holes in between the open holes. does every hole have to b open to use extroverts?

Tracksusa has a good price on extroverts, They are the ski-doo ones. I put a set on my Viper last year, because I got tired of the racheting too and I didn't even have studs. Yes you need every window open! I have heard of people cutting the closed windows open, but you might want to ask around more on that one. I would think it would work.

thanks for the help hatch! will i need to have a clip every hole?
I wonder if it would work if you modified the extroverts?
Say on a 9 toothed one grind down the extrovert tip on every third one so it should line up with the closed windows in the track. I would think that the other 2 teeth may still be engaged.
Just a guess though so maybe someone else that is a track/ extrovert expert can chime in...

depending on riding conditions and style, no. quickest and easiest way to punch the windows is a sharp chisel over a block of wood. buy a couple of chisels, 1 for the window width, 1 for the lenghth. clean the corners out with a sharp knife. its labor intensive. as for the clips, if you can borrow a clip tool, great. if you have to buy one, bend over. while your bent over, price out clips.binracin said:thanks for the help hatch! will i need to have a clip every hole?

Thanks I wasn't sure if this would work or not. Spacing wise with the extrovert teeth and windows should be OK but now that i think about it if it were to ratchet you'd be in trouble...
Just open up the windows with a utility knife or a something similar and go ride it. Don't need to bother with clipping the now open windows, but you can if you want too.
