not so sure about the radiator location right in front like that. that would be easy to take out, at least where we ride.

Jerry Basset at snowmobile.com has a ride review of it. sporting the open face helmet circa 1979. you go Jerry!

Ride that ANYWHERE but a trail and the radiator would be toast. Very interesting design though, ugly, but they are thinking outside the box..........

I love that they are redesigning a very old design of skid that we have been using. That rear shock is massive. Just watching the rider not be affected by bumps shows how much of a difference this new suspension makes.

I really want to ride one to see the difference. But until then I will read Jerry's review.

I read this....

"The Minnesota-based snowmobile maker is launching a Rush-specific web site and planning for hands-on demonstration test rides across North America during the remainder of this snow season. If there is a demo near you, take a ride."

Hopefully they bring them to the cruiserfest in Minocqua feb 13th-14th.

Also note that "The 2010 Rush claimed weight target of 459 pounds is lower than the 2009 600 Dragon SP weight of 466 pounds, Of course, the 2010 Ski-Doo MXZ 600 E-TEC has a significantly lower published weight claim of 415 lbs. So unlike the TY 4stroke post claiming the rush is heavier than the dragon 600, that would not be true, apparently.

What skid are they re-designing?

The current slide rail skids we have been using are not that different regardless of what brand they are compared to the new Pro ride with its external shock, and related parts.

I did not mean to make it sound like this new suspension is a re hashing of an old design.:)

We have to wait for March madness.

I am sure Polaris isn't only bringing the rush 600 for new for 2010 sleds.

I am wondering what Yamaha will do though.

neat idea, like to see someone trying something almost completely new. no reason they can't do things like that and make it work.

It looks like there would be a lot of extra weight in the back end. I am sure they could work it out. If a guy thinks about suspension fundamentals, it appears they are going towards the mono shock dirt bike style of suspension. The central point is just a little further back and with a lot less actual travel.

Why so sour?

This is the first really big improvement to a rear suspension in decades.

Polaris is at the forefront with suspension tech, pretty much always have been.
Just like Yamaha is known for being the 4 stroke leader, Polaris has been known or being the best in suspension.

If ANY company came out with this I would be happy.

I think that is a really cool idea.....it is a lot like a swing arm on a bike!!! I think that it could be the next big think in the industry!! The only thing is, it isn't going to get very far with that motor in it!!!! But a yami engine and it would be one hell of a sled!!! I can't wait to pull over and get a long look at one when it is burned down on the trail!!!!!!hehehehehe!!!

Gosh...I wish I had some of my old drawings from 10years back...I swear to god I was playing around with an idea like this and the phazer combined...however..I also added a spring for the seat to help obsorb some bumps..Dang!!!
I'm not blown away yet on this..but as someone said earlier...good to see they are thinking outta the box...and moving forward...

That isn't a radiator, it's a heat exchanger. The sled is a two stroke 600. I like the way it looks.

Same concept right...? I can't imagine it would last long being there all exposed, I'm sure they are going to come out with some kind of accesorie to add for protection.....

BY THE WAY I DON'T LIKE THE SLED AT ALL, but I think that happens with all the new stuff, like I did not like any Phazer....OLD OR NEW, Now that I have one I think they are great looking sleds......
I used to have the new style Silverados and I own one...LOL, sorry I'm going :postwhore
