What are the differences between the 8DN00 and the 8DN10 cylinders? I have a 01' in the garage in need of a piston, head and cylinder. I have the parts from a 99 motor, and wondered if there was a problem using them?

To the best of my knowlege you have to have all three to make it work properly.....I think that the 98-99 and the 00-02 have different porting. If you are using all three jugs you are good to go. But if you are just replacing one of them you can't do that.... Someone else will chime in and help out...But I think that I am about 90 percent positive!!

Last year same sled burned down #2 cyl, we replaced it with a brand new 8DN00 cyl and used piston, put 2000km on it ran strong. When it burned down it put a half inched hole on the piston skirt, on the exhaust side. Just wanted to confirm the differences .

Wether or not it was a major contributor to the burn down....I dunno?? Would there be enough difference in the porting to lean it out that bad? or should i be looking for the real culprit of the lean out?

I think you should part it out as I know of someone that needs a front skid shock.
