Very New To Yamaha Sleds. Having Purch This 03 Viper, I Am Looking To Get Some Info On Clutch Setup . Best Combo For This Stocker. With No Studs, Seems To Work Well. But Reading On Ty I Guess Dialing In The Clutching Will Make Some Big Gains On All Around Performance. Like To Clear The Smoke And Have Help On What Works Without Getting To Complicated. Thanks!!!!!!from Fng.

I would think with no studs and stock (junk)track...just fixing the over-rev if not already fixed..would be the best thing....

The over-rev is fixed usually by changing tip rivet to 4.5 gram.

The real question is what is your riding style and how fast you want to go ??

I love my setup, easy and it was cheap. it is in my signature. also, get a ripsaw or something similar, what a world of difference a good track makes :)

just p.u. the sled 3 weeks ago. after market track 1" do not have brand but some hard core sledders said its good stuff. mod. agressive riding limited with no studs/ revs top around 8900/ planning on studding.

53/43 helix with green spring and 80 wrap i think that is what turk has on the tech page for a stock Viper. For the over rev 4.5 grams at the tip

ummm 60 wrap with green. 80 is wayyy tooo much unless you use the stock red!

What is a good setting for a stock secondary the sled is stock with 4.5 gram weights in the tips already.

i always thought it was 70 degree wrap?? that what mine is set at. am i missing out on something not going to 60?

I'm with you Thumper1, I have mine wrapped at 70 also (green spring) and it seems to work great. I thought 70 was what Turk had told me a couple of weeks ago. -Ed

Turk so on a stock viper with a 53/43 green spring with 4.5 grams it should be a 60 wrap and if I use the stock spring it should be a 80 wrap? Would it be better to use the green or stock spring?

yep...unless your studded to the nutz or 300 pounds. if rpm,s don,t fall off bad when you pin it from a dead stop run 60 with a green

sec. spring wrap
