IQ skid in my SRX

Send him a certified reciept letter demanding a refund, and that he pays for return shipping, and sends it with the refund before you return the skid. Paul

I paid via paypal and they have a dispute system. I submitted the disposition today. I wonder if this process works or should I still send a certified letter? My W arm also broke during my last outage, so I guess it is time to repair it to finish out the season.

well, i dragged my sled up to my buddys place in mesick and put a couple hundred miles on it. we did a good mix of ditch banging, groomed trail and wide open field riding and i am extemely pleased with this swap. the weight transfer is very predictable and will only pull the skis up when i want it too so i can keep them planted even under power in a turn. i raced my buddys 800 rev a couple times and both times i hung the skis untill i let off the throttle. it can take a much larger beating through rough trails than the pro-action and allows for a higher level of control at speed through the feilds and trails. my buddys took turns riding it throughout the day and they loved it as well, i got stuck with my freinds rev for a while because he loved how my SRX can carve through the trails lol. anyways, heres a couple random pics from my weekend, sadly probably the last ride of the season for me, all the snow is gone by me :o|

My warrior with this skid seems faster. I think it transfers so much better, and actually launches you get going quicker, and it feels faster.

looks good... I may have to go with the IQ over the edge. I am planning to throw an edge in my viper over the summer, but it seems to me that the IQ might be a better option even with the additional work required.

Hooks up faster on a Warrior? You must need new arms to hold on. My RX is so fast already and typically limited by my right thumb/head connection. You have the IRr skid....what again is the difference between the IQr vs IQ Fusion? I had the same post on a Polaris site but most opinions are leaning towards IQ as the r was a little too rough for trails (don't know why - torque arm in front)?

The front arm has 2 mounts at the rail instaed of one. The rear scicor has 3 mounting spots on the rail, the transfer blocks have 4 different mounting locations to help vary transfer, it is built heavier, has rail stiffeners. It has adjustments for mounting on the rear shock top and bottom to help change geometry. That all I can think of right now. Th prox skids is the same as a iqr. I never rode this skid as a 121, I added 136 ext to it right away, so maybe that softened it up some. I know with comp adj on front and rear shock you can make it ride smooth or make it take the big bumps at hi speed with no bottoming. Paul

Comp adjustments? Can the holes be drilled in the rail assembly? So the geometry is the same...just adjustment holes? What shocks are you running in your? Any adjustment in shocks? So if the IQ is too soft, you only have a spring adjustment (from what I can see) since the shocks have no adjustment. Unless of course, you drill rail assembly holes.

Just thinking....

Copression adj on the shocks. Drilling the holes in the rails will weaken them. i think the prox rails are made stronger to begin with for racing.

What shocks have the compression adjustments? The Fox PSS and Ryde FX does not appear to have any adjustments....does the Walker Evans shocks that come on the IQ Fusion have compression adjustments?

Or IQr only?
Thanks....
BTW....skid guy will accept the skid back as long as I pay shipping both ways...so $400 skid - 140 shipping = $260 back from my $400 purchase. I'm just not sure how good Paypal is at getting you money back if I don't agree.

Tell him you will see him in court. He pays return shipping and full refund, or you take him to court for mail fraud. Been there. Talked to lawyers already spent the money so you don't have too. It can be prosecuted as mail fraud or just flat fraud. Did you keep any corispondence from him, saying how good it is. Maxdlx

Don't want to hijack this thread so I'll keep it brief...
Only email stated "The rear shock is Fox zero pro PSS with position senitive technology. The front is an Arvin Meritor. They are charged good to my knowledge. They worked great when we took it out" which is incorrect. Would mail fraud apply to UPS?

Putting my IQ skid in now....into 02 Viper

Rear shocks Fox PS5
Rear suspension type IQ
Rear suspension travel (mm) 353

Can't figure out how they get 13.5" of travel? When I measure the top mount at 13" and it compresses to 5", I come up with 8" of travel in the rear. What am I missing

Good luck with putting this skid in a yamaha. I worked for a couple of months on that same idea and in the end it just doesn't work good at all. The measurements that are listed work if you have a srx, but with long travel front end the front of the skid is off the ground when it is on the floor. I tried to fix it by adjusting limiters and then moving front holes down but the angle of attack up to drivers is too steep and therefore creates friction and is very hard to turn the track. Maybe a pro x skid might work as it is very different but in my opinion the IQ skid is not worth the effort. Look for a monoshock skid, it is far easier to install and probably rides much better with more adjustability and more travel.

I put an Edge skid in my SRX (I believe they are the same, just updated shocks) and it works great, I have a BLT front end on my SRX to match it (widen and raise), limiters are at the same setting as my buddies 01 XC 700, track sits flat, havent actually compared track angle yet though... have about 800 miles on it... I love the ride...

Still need to figure out how this skid has 13.9" of travel. I assume the rear mounts swivel (they have bronze bushing in them) like a torsion arm. Need to figure out how much they move so nothing hits in the tunnel area. Used 5 1/2" to top of tunnel.

One photo of stock skid and others of new skid....hope its assembled correctly.

Thanks....holes are drilled, plates made - need snow.
