I heard the AC 700 didn't meet the new emmissions? I'm a yamaha owner, but I did like the spunky AC 700. I think it is faster than the srx sorry. D&D winner at the haydays can make sleds go. 5 mles from home so I'll probable but AC next.
I live in tug hill ny world snow record in 24 hour period and no skidoo dealer, no polaris dealer. D&D Cat performance has now taken on Yamaha.

the f-7's not faster hate to tell you..they are quicker & thats it..& dont take this the wrong way becuase d&d can build a sled.thats provin..scotty & the boys & danielle menenlly are all fast..but they all wiegh as much as a f-7 seat.. but what are you trying to prove about d&d & haydays?? because hauck has won, bender has won,...craig machbank on the doos,,,oh dont forget all dyno port wins....every sled manufactuer has won at haydays..so not sure what your getting at with that....who holds the record for grass beating out a d&d sled this past year??one stop on a yamaha...

Yes AC f7 was a fast sled but just like all the kitty cat I know they to get towed home. Trim and fit and quality of a Arctic Cat is lacking.

Isn't this THE SRX/VIPER forum? What the heck is a question like this being posted here for? Wouldn't it be better suited for the Arctic Chat forums?

What a hilarious thread, from bankrupcy claims to F7s werent fast. If you look at the stats, last i heard there first quarter numbers in the fall were UP from last year. Secondly the F7 was a POTENT sled and STILL is to this day.

I now own a 2005 Venture 600 BUT before I bought that I owned a '03 F7 and an '06 F7. They are great sleds and very fast. Nothing was faster than the '03's and mine would kill everything. My '06 was not as fast or as quick but a lot of factors affect this.
To say F-Cats are crap is so dumb. They are light, they can fly, are VERY tough and the engine was practically bullet proof. The 700cc Suzuki engine was and still is a great engine.
Liek someone already posted, as the years go by we new new technology and new sleds. It's the nature of the business. I HATE the look of the new firecats but thats just a personal choice.
All 4 of the big manufacturers make good sleds. If they didn't no one would buy them.
Just wanted to add my 0.2 cents.
SOme pics of me riding the crap out of my F7.

Yamaha took over 3 place for sled sales, Arctic Cat is now last.

Polaris still makes the 700 RMK but this will be the last year for it I bet.

congrats on the changeover to yamaha, i dont have anything against the f7s besides their lakc of quality to save weight, and all twins in general sound like complete $h!t, a tripple is the only thing i like hearing from a sled, so distinct.
the 03 firecats stood true to their name because they did indeed all catch on fire, major problem with that year....
the 03 was the fastest b/c its fuel mapping was set up aggresive, not to mention probably clutching too.

cATS
Never owned one but I helped wrench on one. Didnt like what I saw. None of the lines had hose clamps installed. Were they so cheap they went with the 'hope' method or did the previous owner just not bother replacing them.
Everyplace the SRX has a line it has a clamp.

The 03 firecats earned the nick name "F Bomb" and they were never able to shake it. The 03 F7's were plenty fast, as mentioned, but they had a lot of engine issues with them.

DId the 2003's have issues? Tons...there were a lots of recalls and I went through all of them. But like all first year sleds, they all have bugs to get worked out. The irritating bugs lasted a few years but they got worked out. Pull chord issues, steering rod hitting the block...
Did they F-Cats have engine issues. Nope.
That suzuki was a solid engine. Maybe you are confusing some of the other kinks that the sled had becuase I have known a lot of F-Cat owners and have been a member of HCS for a very long time and it is rare to find anyone who had engine problems.

I just heard the numbers a couple days ago. Doo is first as usual in sled sles, YAMAHA is second and have been for a couple years since they are THE CHOICE for going 4 stroke, Polaris is third at about 1% behind Yamaha and Cat is fourth. The bottom three are very close, Ski-Doo had a nice lead.

Maybe YOU had no issues, but I know several that have. One of my friends has a couple very fast 2003 F7's, he set the NSSR world record a couple years ago in 1000' for the stock 700 class at over 107mph. He loves his F7's basically because they are fast, but has had several issues with burn downs. That is one of his main gripes. He says they will be running fine and just go BOOM. Not one, but both of his F7's have done this a few times.
