How did you guys get the one piece throttle block over the grips?
I took the throttle block stripped it down and put it in boiling water for about 30 secs to soften it up. Had the 07 bar lubed up with oil and then rammed on the throttle block. Made a small crack on the block but that is no problem. Took out my plastic welder kit and its as good as new.red rider said:How did you guys get the one piece throttle block over the grips?
Also remove the grips and the heater elements. That ws a little harder to do. The grips were glued on. Used a platic windshield tool(knife like) and loosened the grip from the bar. Then under hot water worked off the heater element very slowly.

The 06 grips have removeable hooks, so it's not a problem. I removed the hooks, grips, and then slid the throttle off. Very Easy. THe 07 grips were one piece and are more difficult with the older one piece throttle design.

old thread revival sorry!
Did you extend your cables.
I'm looking to do this with my SRX.
3 inch block riser + 1 1/4 block to pivot riser conversion + 3 1/2 pivot risers this will be used with a 06 apex bar.
i haven't ordered the pivot riser block or the risers yet. they are sitting in the dk shopping cart waiting for some confirmation if i need to go shorter or just order cables.

Nope. Stayed with the stock cables. Rerouted the brake line and thats about it.

do you think my height will be ok . 7 and 3/4
With the 4" rise and the 1.5" pivot adapter the brake line is maxed out!

throttle block
Another way around the throttle block issue is to use one from a viper S or an RX-1. These are split throttle blocks so you can just put them on like you would a brake master cylinder. Only thing is you need to get a split throttle/oiler cable like what came on a viper S......or if you need the increased length a 04 mountain viper is longer and will do the trick.
