Clutching with M10 top speed???

I'm wondering what clutching I should be running with my M10. The sled pulls really hard to 120km/h and pretty hard to 140km/h (90mph) but then it's pretty lazy. I have the track running fairly loose so I don't think that's the issue. What are you M10 users experiencing? By the way the ride is unbelievable!!!!
 
I was only able to get to 95mph with 57.4 gram weights(same ramp profile as 8dn-20's),and a 50/42 helix. I recently switched to 8dn-20's loaded,www primary, green secondary at 70 wrap, Hauck 54/44 helix, and 23/37 gears.
Only problem is I have no snow to test, and the ice was real sketch for a couple of days.
p.s.-it took 1/2-3/4 of a mile to get 95 mph.
 
I don't have a M10,but also have been running real hard to 100mph and takes it's time to go higher. 105-107 this season,last year was nailing 115 with a bad clutch.So don't know what more to do.I am over-reving a tad.Need to do more clutching.I can't see ever burying the needle ever,even though I thought it would.
 
Ya I've been watching your thread. I've got a couple of weeks left till I go back to work so as soon as the snow comes back I'll be back out there lookin for the "C-Note".
 
So am I losing that much top end because of the M10? Don't get me wrong I think the ride is still worth the sacrifice but I'd sure like to get a bit back.
 
I am wondering the same thing. I always hear guys lose a couple of mph's on top but not being able to do over 100 is not good. I will get back to ya when I test this weekend. We're suppossed to get around 8 inches of snow here over the next 2-3 days.
What are you running for a clutch set-up?
 
How does your sled sit? Like mine or lower? When I sit on mine I've got like 5.5 inches of sag. I still haven't bottomed this thing out and I weigh 285 lbs.
 
Mine sits close to the same. I have to set it up still as per Fast's guidelines so I am getting some minor bottoming at the moment. I think I'm running a bit more sag then you at present as well. I've only got about 800kms on it so far but I'm very very happy with the ride improvement. I'm going to recheck my powervalves as well and hopefully I can find some of this missing top end.
 
I have been running one for 3 years, and it certainly scrubbed some top end. I don't have anywhere around here that I can do 100 mph. I am geared down big time for corner to corner.

If the m10 or rear spring were new on install, the spring will take about 200 miles to really get broke in. You then have to reset your preload. You do not want any more than 6" of sag for normal trail riding(FRA at 3).
Go with 4-5" of sag at a FRA setting of 3, which would be about 68-72 turns out from lightly seated, if you have the m10 Jack for aggresive riding.

I have the m10 with the m-valve & the Jack and weigh in at 235lbs with all my gear and have 4.75" sag at 78 turns out on the Jack for hammering the whoops and will bottom out at times on a real big one.

smooth trails I just dial back about 5-7 turns on the Jack and get more sag for a softer ride.
 
We have some pretty good straights where I ride so as much as I love acceleration I want to be sure I'm still in front at the end of the straight. Is there anyone on this forum I can buy what I need to clutch it from?
 
I'm all ears blue. Can I get that stuff from Fast Inc or what? I got to 90 mph today on a lake. About 1200 ft pull. I know I've got more. I just need to get to a bigger lake as all the trails around here a closed. So far the 8dn-20 package rocks. I think the stock 23/37 gears are holding me back on the 1000 ft runs.
 
try tricked-toys or mountain machines, both sell everything you need,if i remember correctly, the axel goes for around 170.00 plus you will need 2 8"idler wheels
 
I looked at Mtn Machines and figured I would have to use the Polaris 121" kit, correct?
That would do the trick and look pretty trick at the same time.
 
you cant run 4 8" wheels so the offset axel lets you run the rear center 2 stock wheels while using 2 8" outside wheels, which frees up lost speed by reducing the drag and tight turning radius of the track with the small stock wheels, you can even change your upper idler wheels to bigger ones for less resistance
