The sled is looking very nice, terrific work!!
Where did you get the aluminum ring nut for the starter switch and the aluminum choke lever? I am looking for an aluminum cap for the oil tank with the Yamaha logo on it also. The aluminum parts are a nice touch.
Have you been powder coating your bolt heads? How well do the hold up when you tighten them with a wrench/socket? Many of the bolts on the sled I am rebuilding are discollored or corroded badly. Pretty expensive to buy new bolts so i was thninking of either powder coating them or having them nickel plated.

the starter switch is a yamaha part. the choke is lever is custom made for me by a place in canada i have not powdercoated many bolts it holds for a while but will come off bolts.rx1jim said:The sled is looking very nice, terrific work!!

i recieved my new drive cogs today and picked up a primary and secondary for it i am going to put a micro belmont artic cat/yamaha roller kit on it. and going to reclutch the primary the polish them up real nice. also got some billet arms today. powdercoated a few last things last night springs are a pain to do but look awesome.

I hope you aren't going to run the heelclickers like that. The middle bolt might scratch the spider pocket because it sticks too far out in the back. On a yamaha primary that is anyway.

i got a viper seat gas tank and rear grab bar today also going with a led clear taillight for the seat alot lighter and the bumper is nicer.

thanks for the comment. every srx should be redone. here is a pic of my brand new hood i bought never been used leftover over from a out of business dealer it is in the mail. it is perfect should look good on the sled. also took 2 pair of ohlin shocks to get redone.yammysrx700 said:this build is nuts, makes me wanna do this with my srx !

recieved my brand new yamaha hood today installed the screens hinges and other stuff also installed blue line for my tank vents.

here is the hood supports and blue vent lines. also brought my ohlins shocks to get rebuilt. they are 14.5 inches long. 1 inch longer than stock.

What did you use to paint the front bumper? And does it/will it hold up good from lifting it and branches/snow always rubbing against it?

good to know, i'm trying that on the yellow wheels on my sc10III until I swing for some new wheels, too many other things to buy for it just yeti used fusion paint from crylon it holds good so far.

got my led tail light today looks awesome and is bright should help with the 99 stator output. also found some plastic blue sleeve for some cables covers up the ugly black. also have some in chrome. my shocks are done getting rebuilt. had 4 ohlins rebuilt for 125 dollars.

worker on it again today put on windshield and installed the lowershaft and upper shaft chaincase the wiring harness and put on handlebars. waiting on a bearing and a few other things. also waiting to powdercoat my springs for my ohlins.

did a little more work today started on my clutches i had mirco belmont make me a roller secondary with a belt adjuster and i put together my primary. also cleaned them up.
