"99 srx custom project restoration"

i am doing a complete restoration to a 99 srx 700. every metal part will be powdercoated and every aluminum part will be polished then clearcoated. the motor is getting a rebuild and the suspension will be rebuilt and powdercoated. this is my 5 th srx. i just bought a sixth one for parts. the front suspension will be powdercoated chrome with blue and white accents and the rest will be in white,blue and chrome powdercoat. i am getting a brand new hood . the tunnel will be polished also. it will have a heel clicker clutch kit maxx roller secondary ported pistons dyno port silencers swain tech coated pipes in white.pearl white skidplate maxx transfer rods and a ripsaw track. it will also have a m 10 136 with a new hacksaw track along with a custom flat top seat.i will post pics of progress as i go. if you have any ideas let me know. it also has 35.5 bored carbs. i am making custom trailing arms for it to.

here is the new chassie i got today for 150 dollars it is in excellant shape for a 99 srx with 6000 miles look at the exchangers. also here is some of the finished powdercoat chrome. i also bought a whole key housing and a piston for 25 dollars and the kid said i can have the whole botton end cases crank stator and flywheel for free. nothing wrong with the bottom he blew 1 piston and wanted to part it out.

Great stuff man i love seeing people doing this it gives me motovation to do my viper over i was deciding weather to invest in a new sled but the viper is paid for and treated me awsome so far and plus it`s a two stroke and i would love to make her look brand new and custom anyway please keep us posted with your progress i will be sure to be checking in.

i put together one of my motors today and also finished some powdercoat here is it in the sled nice and bright. here are some parts getting ready to be polished. what do you think of the wire covers i have on them. they are plastic chrome loom. looks like steel braid.

i powdercoated my heads chrome today and finished polishing my pipes. what do you think of the chrome heads.

What powder coating powder are you using for the chrome finish?? Is it a 2 step process with the powder and a clear second coat??

it is super chrome and yes it is a two step process. if you dont put the clear it will dull with time.

no it is high temp clear.

I might want my heads done can you also do Exhaust? or will this burn off?

I just happen to be doing a SRX resto also Weird but i am making mine a Cross country SRX.

here is some more progress the silencer is high temp to 1000 degrees and the rest is polishing i did. slowly coming along just have a bunch of other stuff to do.
