Went riding all weekend and the sled was spot on. Buddy was taking it off the trailer to get his off which was behind it and back it off into the corner on his shed. It caught right on the corner of the rear end. Put a small dent in the bumper but it crushed the right rear corner in about 4 inches. I looked closer and it just put a fold in the aluminum frame. I looked up the parts on the net and they want 900 bucks for a new piece of aluminum :o|

I don't want him to pay for a new frame when I think it can be fixed just by cutting out the old piece and riveting in a another piece. There really isnt anything back there that it needs to support. He also put a small dent in the cross over for the heat exchanger and pinched the hose. I just figured I would get a fab shop to fix the frame, have him buy me a bumper and a new rubber connecting hose? Sound like a plan. I can get pics if you guys need but its pretty straight forward. Right rear corner

tunnel damage is horrible for resale value......a tunnel that is bent or cracked is considered a total loss as far as insurance is concerned. the parts are not the expensive part, its the labor to install the tunnel. i wouldnt be too worried if you plan on keeping the sled, just fix it like you say and be on your way. just be aware that the damage he cause will hinder your resale.

A guy I was talking to about fixing the machine today said I might as well have him put a tunnel extension on it as well since he'll have to fabricate the rear brace as well. Not sure what to tell him. I am not going to stretch the machine just yet but may in the future. If he does this now will it hurt anything? What else will I need? Will just a crossover be fine still?

I was thinking that. I have a friend that has a welding company and should be able to weld up the tunnel for me. What all is involved in extending it? Just buying the rail extensions and a bigger track?

also need the mountain viper hoses to move the cooler tube back. otherwise you have it prettymuch all listed.
