power inc is like half the size of the stock can, sounds good and i have been told it makes power.

I TESTED A POWER inc CAN ON MY 2000 SRX AND LOVED IT. THOUGHT I WAS SET. THAN I TESTED IT AGAINST YAMAHA STOCK MUFFLER. STOCK MUFFLER DESTROYED IT. MOREL OF THIS STORIE, I RATHER BE QUIET AND FAST THAN LOUD AND SLOW. 3:16 (yammie tony)
Like it has been stated the stock setup will make more power than anything the aftermarket has out but if your set on putting a stinger on your sled then look at a Bender or Power Inc or MBRP one as they tend to be the quietest of them.Consequently the Hauck Howlers have been found to be one of the loudest ones so pick your can according to what your looking for but just remember loud pipes close trails.

I would love to hear just a bit more bark out of the srx. Would love to see some dyno numbers and see what the deal is and understand why the powerloss of the aftermarket cans exists. I can only make a guess and that the increased backpressure helps keep the pipes at the right temp which is important to the performance of the motor. Maybe the aftermarket cans let the gas out to soon and the pipes get too cold???

did you dyno test the power inc can or was it just seat of the pants?

More bark? Its always the dogs with the little bark and the big bite that count! Dyno numbers? I'm not into that but ask YammieGod or look around here. I'll tell you something from experience the price of Bender's Race can for an SRX is near $300 dollars. Go price out the stock silencer from Yamaha, I'm sure its double if not tripple the price. Then think about who spent more money to develop that exhaust can, Yamaha the people who designed the motor or Bender the people who made the SRX sound a little louder. Putting a can on stock pipes IMHO is useless because the stock can is ment to work with the stock pipes. Backpressure is everything in a two stroke, without it you're loosing power. Trust me when Yamaha designed that sled, it was a pretty gutsy move putting SRX on the side considering what happened with the 81 SRX that never happened. They weren't going to make another failure right from the start, they spent a lot of money in R&D with that sled. Keep the exhaust stock and you'll be happier.
Is this Sirkilly23??? Actually a friend of mine reffered me to this site...I like it, it seems like a pretty tight little group...and no Skud riders...LoL
And yeah from what everyone is sayin stock is the way to go......but I love the rumble of an SRX with a can...

power inc went out of business about 5 (?) years ago. buddy put one on his srx. at first it sounded good then got louder and louder. IT LOST POWER compared to the stock silencer!

I TESTED THE STOCK CAN VS MY POWER inc ON TIMERS, A STOP WATCH, AND SEAT OF THE PANTS. BEST TEST OF CORSE WAS TIMERS. AND I WILL ADD THE SRX NAMEPLATE WAS BROUGHT BACK BECAUSE OF THE LEGEND ON THE LAKES AND RACE TRACK THE 76-80 WAS. NOTHING AT ALL WITH THE TUNEING MISHAPS OF THE 81, WHICH WAS STILL A GREAT SLED IN THE RIGHT HANDS !! 3:16 (yammie tony)

i always heard of people having positive results running the power inc pipes on their sleds??? so, power inc pipes were helpful, but their cans not so much??? i always thought i heard tho, that people had positive results w/the power inc can???
