As The title says.....is it really this hard to remove the drive sprocket on my Viper? I've removed the secondary clutch and sleve to totally free up that side of the sprocket, I cant understand how to losen up the gear box side. I've removed all the gears from the chaincase right down to the bearing on the drive shaft, it moves back and fourth but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the dam thing out?? I've started to remove the entire chain case, os this really necessary? Is there any trick to getting the shaft out?
Thanks

I've done a little searching, it seems as though a lot of people have trouble removing the chaincase, so far I have the brake caliper off and I've removed all bolts that secure the chaincase to the sled, it still seems to be holding on tight as a drum, is there anything I should be looking for/doing?

Put a 2 x4 on the end of the jackshaft and give it a coulple hits with a hammer . It is binding on the roter keyway. Not to hard couple of taps.

The chain case needs to come off square. What this means is the chain case has to move off the shafts exactly the same amount top shaft and bottom shaft. If your bound up its because the case is not being removed evenly. If you can not move at all begin to hit the case back into original position and start over. You will notice if you move either the top or bottom of the case to much it will instantly bind up.
