Quick sparkplug question for my SRX...

I just got a question, I need some new plugs, and was wondering as I was reading in another forum that the srx gap is between .28-.32 I believe anyways from what I've read the BR9ECS is the plug to put in but they come with different part#
I believe the 3570 is .28 and the 4677 is .31 so which one should I choose or which one do you guys use ??
 
The 4677 is the fixed stud cap type if I'm not mistaken and the 3570 has a threaded cap or vise versa if I'm wrong.The fixed stud ones will have to be gapped as they come factory gapped for Ski Doo application.The better ones to get are the fixed stud cap type as the other can and will vibrate loose on you eventually and possibly cause some spark problems or mabey even burn out a spark plug cap.
 
Weird, on the NGK website its says pretty much that the BR10ECS 5880 is the original spark plug, actually when I click on the srx600 three sparkplugs shows, the BR9ECS 4677 - it says it got a gap of 0.28 for a 1999 srx and the BR10ECS with a gap of 0.28 also for the 99-98 and 98 srx....
This is getting confusing.
 
The 10's were the stock plug but were too cold and fouled ALOT so dealers put BR9ECS's in sleds to cure the problem.Run the 9's you wont have any issues at all and find the fixed stud cap type if you can,just gap them at .28 and go.
 
the proper plugs are br9ecs 4677 they come pre gapped at 0.28-0.31 and should not be adjusted,they have a solid top and a short electrode if you adjust them the weld may weaken , if the piece breaks off it will make a mess in your motor
 
ya i was reading that today about not regapping ,did plug change on mountain plugs were new but boxes got wet they must have hit tools or something way off , i never check plug gaps will now

Where is this warning located? I've looked at NGK.com and NGKsparkplugs.com and can find it nowhere. The description of br9ecs shows the low angle ground electrode but makes no mention of this warning.

Is it on the box?

Have you tried a local auto parts?

The last time I bought them was from the local Richard's for 3 or 4 bucks per.

I've also got them from Murry's and Autozone for roughly the same price.
 
Last time i bought them loaded up paid 30 for 6 only place in town that carries them at this time is 15 each
 
ebay i paid $60 for ten shipped to canada make sure they are 4677 .i got the info about adjusting br9ecs plugs from the ngk tech

Hmm. Perhaps they should say something about it in thier "how to gap a plug" video on they're website.

I suspect you talked to some rouge tech that has his own ideas about plug gapping. The video does a good job of identifying the correct tools for gapping but says nothing about br9ecs specifically.

I do agree though that with the shorter ground electrode, any adjustment would place a larger stress on the weld and it is harder to get the right tool in there to open the gap so maybe the NGK tech is applying a general rule of thumb for guys that use a coin style gapper. The use of such a gapper is a definate no-no especially with precious metal plugs and they're smaller o.d. center electrode.

Spark power is weak on the stock ignition
Go .025" U will pick up some power over .028"
