Ok i know it can be done. Put a srx crank in a viper. So I need some details. Can I use the srx base and viper top end? Or do I have the change that end brg on srx crank and put it in the viper case. Project i just picked up.
2000 to 2002 SRX crank will interchange in the Viper cases with no problems...but as far as I know the 1998-1999 SRX cranks don't fit in the Viper because of the differance in bearings. I am currently putting a Viper crank in my 2002 SRX.
I heard that if you if you update the brg it will work to.

Get an 00/02 It will save you alot of trouble the 98/99 have different pickups for the cdi ...Pain in the keister!

viper top ends will bolt up w/no problems on '98-'99 cases, but the mounting location for the pickup coil is off on the '98-'99 case, which will be a problem for the viper wiring or '00-'02 srx wiring. also, the pto bearing on the '98-'99 cranks is different than the '00-'02 srx cranks and viper cranks, as already stated. viper top ends work fine with '00-'02 srx crankcases, as those cases are the same as the viper. then mounting locations for the pickup coil are right too.
