the new Tric scratchers out by Yamaha.Gives a steady stream of snow pellets towards the track.Not meant for ice,but as a extra insurance to keep track and sliders lubed constantly on trails and the such.$89.00.

i wouldnt i think the track's and sliders do just fine on the trails and even off trails.. unless you're trail riding with a 2 1/4" paddle haha

best ones I've seen to date... and they won't snap off this instant you put your sled in reverse, if you have it... gave up on the traditional scratchers made of spring steel, couldn't train myself to remember to pull them up before going backwards... very nice product..
 
mod..you referring to me taking a tumble....lol....you would like that wouldn't you.
TJ500..have you seen them up close.Perhaps at Red River Yamaha down your way.

no... your photo is the first I've seen of them... they just clearly appear to work very well.. not surprised Yamaha would come up with them.. tj
 
There is a thread going on over on the 4 stroke forum about this style of scratcher. I tried a DIY version two seasons ago but it worked like poop. I used too light a cable guage though. For last season I made some ski scratchers that allow the use of reverse as long as the snow underneath is deep enough. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=61579&highlight=

I would like to try these new ones........There is also a similar product that mounts to the rails called "slidekicks". 'yellowknife' used the first and second versions of those and said the second version seems to work pretty good and much better then the first. http://www.slidekicks.net/ Maybe one of you could PM him to comment on this....
 
hey crew chief..I was reading that tread a few days back.Found it on the Yamaha.ca site.Cool stuff.
I like the spring on ski idea myself.I have 2 sets of them springs cut in two for a total of 4 scratchers.Had them last spring when I read some articles about making them.Just got to find them and get them set up with a little fabrication skills.
I have seen these scratchers before also:

those are the slidekicks you mentioned above.I wander if they ever get caught in the track somehow. modsrx would never be off my back if they caught somewhere and flipped me over.He is just waiting for me to have a mishap...and laugh his butt off at me for the rest of the season.Can`t wait for him to throw a stud into his exchanger...lollll...I`ll be there to remind him of it....hey mod!!!!!!
 
The only thing i dont like about the slidekicks is they arent at the very front of the hifax, so the hifax is still getting headed up to melting point before something is getting on them to cool em off... i like the yamaha ones better since they could get up towards the front of the contact point of the hifax and cool things off before they melt down to your suspension rails...
 
I have Slidekicks on my Attak and they work fine. But those new Yammi ones look great also! And FYI my whole skid gets sprayed enough --- not just the rear portion.......

i prefer to hit the heat exchanger with a studd than fly like a bird lollllllllll :bump:
