Before i get bashed. I searched hours on the traditional studding. Here it is. Im going to run 144 Woody Gold diggers with Aluminum Backing plates. Im going to order from richmotorsports. Im pretty sure i have a 1" lug track. Not sure if i wanna run 1.075 or 1.175. Does the 00 SRX come stock with tunnel protectors? I seen 2 plastic rods running along the skid underneath so i assume there already there.

Am i messuring correctly?

yes, you are measuring correctly, and if you have two plastic stripes running on the top of your tunnell, then it means you have the tunnell protectors.
 
Okay good, Hmm i wonder if there stock or if the previous owner decided to install them
 
Thanks Mod, would i have to change the drivers if i ran a 1.175 stud on a 1" lug track?
 
No, but U have to run the track tighter then I like.. I dont like that feeling in the back of my head going hhhhhmmmmmm......hope its good...

longer they are more stress u apply to them so easier to bend them

That's what I run without the worry.

Do you have front and rear heat-exchanger protectors? I'm guessing you have the front (I think they were standard from '00 - up) but not the rear.
 
Nope none in the rear, not sure about the front. Are rear heat exchangers protectors mandatory when studding? The exchanger doesnt look like it come too close to the track

If you look up at the front of the track, you'll see the front HX and two square tubes between it and the track.

Agreed that it doesn't appear that the rear HX is in harms way, but I found nicks from studs in mine before adding the rear protector.
 
If you tail land a jump or fully compress on a big bump, the track will hit the rear heat exchanger. Good to have protectors if you ride hard at all.
 
They are correct your sled came with protectors except on the rear.i would add them also.....but yamaha no longer makes them so you'll have to search for some used ones.

Does your track have a yamaha symbol on it or does it say camoplast or yokahama.Stock track was .92" lug which the 1.075" woody will still work fine.
 
Its a newer track from the previous owner. It says KIMPLEX in the middle of the track. Also says made in Canada

Never thought of that. Better get a protecter for the rear. The front comes with it stock you say?

Is the pretectors for the front and rear the same. Or should i be specific when looking around for protectors?

Ah yes kimpex is another brand.If you can measure entire track thickness from top to bottom and then minus 1/4" that should give you lug height.

Yes it has fronts,tunnel stock.you will need rear specific ones.
