The rings that you are talking about are to take up the space between the intake boot and the carb because the boots are actually for a larger carburetor.

How do they seal to the carbs? Press fit? O-ring?
A way that I DO NOT like.... They instruct you to use silicone sealant(rtv) to seal the carb rings to the carburetor, then install the carbs into the boot. To me this is a burndown just waiting to happen, but it is currently the only way to use existing parts to help a boost bottle fit onto a triple. In my opinion this type of engineering is great for the race track but not good for a woods rider- if you know what I mean.

Hmm...... yah that's just a burndown waiting to happen, not good for reliability. I would think that a tight fitting rubber ring would be better than that, but it may not slide in to the boots as easy. I will have to try some stuff out and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the info.
You're welcome. T
use red loctite on them no leaks
Max I understand the principle but I am just the type of guy that likes to have a known gasket or mating surface in the intake tract rather than using a makeshift type gasket. I guess that I'm to into doing it the right way.(so to speak) T

max is correct , red locttite no leaks , and yet to see burndown due to that , seen burndowns cause fellas used hose clamps on boots " sorry Bob "
those rings fit in the boots extremely tight you will need screwdrivers to get them out after awhile
