I am useing an elecric fuel pump from a Nissan Frontier in tank set up. I tried different fixed resistors until the voltage was stepped down enough to give me a fuel pressure that dosn't push open needle. The greater the resistor value the lower the supply voltage to pump when in series, the lower the voltage the lower the pump output pressure is. The only time I have had trouble is if I run float bowls dry, then I have to put gas down cylinders to fire up then produce voltage to kick on pump on and produce pressure.

But the pressure needs to move with boost. So at idle or when running no boost you would have about 6lb of fuel pressure (stock vac pump press). As it builds boost, you want to keep fuel pressure 8~10lb over boost pressure. So if you run 8lb of boost, you need 16~18lb of fuel pressure. Your system is doing that?

I am running 8lbs of boost as rpm increases so does the voltage output from mag, this increases fuel presure off idle. I dont remember what my idle fuel pressure is , next time its fired up ill make a note.
 
If you install the stock vac fuel pumps (with your elec pump). Then remove the resistors, install a normally open low pressure (4psi) Hobbs switch into the intake someplace (to turn on your elec pump over 4lb of boost), install a adjustable fuel pressure regulator set to 18lbs. You'll have 100% fuel system that won't run the bowls dry, flood or burn down.

All for under $100

The only time I have run the bowls dry is when I actually ran out of fuel LOL. I have trail ridden this sled on vintage rallies, drag raced it and radar run it with a mere gear change. It truely works great and has surprised alot of people were ever I bring it. Thanks for the info though
 
What turbo are you using? I've also read about guys using a full electric system like you are, just with a rising rate fuel press. regulator with the boost reference signal coming from the exhaust pipe. Is your engine stock besides the turbo?
