How did you like that Legend oil?Was it very low smoke with a pleasant smell and improved throttle response as they say?One guy at a fall snow show selling it called it throttle in a bottle, lol!
smell was find and it didn't smoke too much, but it was gumming up my powervalves a lot, leading to pull throughs. It wasn't just carbon build up, it was sticky. I guess I could have tried cleaning more often.

For what it's worth - my experience shows that Legend burns cleaner than Blue Marble. It appears that other mileage has varied.

Few agree, but I am convinced that a lot of the residue on the power valves actually comes from the gasoline.

I've been using Shell Advance Synthetic for years on my 98 SRX, it now has over 22000KM with just a topend refresh at approx 9000km ago. Doesn't have that terrible smell either, power valves need little cleaning every year and hardly smokes at all. This is what i will be running in my 2001 SRX that i picked up this fall that has only 1300km. the guy before me was running IPONE synthetic in it.

i suggest you run whatever you want just as long as it's a good quality synthentic, you shouldn't have any problems. just my 2 cents ;)!

thats the stuff! i have also used it for years in my 98 srx ,i've blown up lots of top ends in this thing (not oil related) but the crank has never been done with 44000km's, thats right 44,000km's no b.s.,crank seals 3 times. i won't use anything else.;)!

good one Gib.

IPone is a good quality oil as well it's just not as easy for me to get a hold of. I've got an auto supply store here in town that carries the shell advance syn. and they throw it on sale twice a winter, that's when i go in and buy 4 big jugs at a time. ;)!

No matter what oil you use, there is no substitute for cleaning the power valves often to keep them operating properly. After rebuilding the engine in both of my 2000 SRX sleds, I will be clening the power valves every 800 to 1000 miles. There are no magic oils which will keep the power valves clean.
