I've been using Shell Advance Synthetic for years on my 98 SRX, it now has over 22000KM with just a topend refresh at approx 9000km ago. Doesn't have that terrible smell either, power valves need little cleaning every year and hardly smokes at all. This is what i will be running in my 2001 SRX that i picked up this fall that has only 1300km. the guy before me was running IPONE synthetic in it.
i suggest you run whatever you want just as long as it's a good quality synthentic, you shouldn't have any problems. just my 2 cents
