SXlover's garage work

Ordered up 2 new shocks to replace the ones I thought were shot above. Turns out they must not be made to rebound at all. The new ones are the exact same way, so I guess my shocks weren't garbage.

Thank you, I only own the 2 Apexs, my dad owns the rest and I just ride him. The 153" Viper is his to ride though.

My dream garage will someday consist of a highly modded Apex Mtn Turbo, 05 Viper Mtn, stock SRX, stock VMAX4, and a stock 97 SX. Possibly a Mtn. Max in there and a SXR.

Thank you!! I have a thread on here as well from awhile back, when I completely tore apart a 97 SX and rebuild it. New outer crank bearings and all.

Well cleaned up the garage a bit today for something to do. Here is the result.

Well time for a new garage project. It's a 92 Kawasaki 650SX standup jetski. It actually belongs to my uncle but since I ride it probably the most I figured I'll help by rebuilding it. It has 1 bad sleeve and the other cylinder has no compression. Time to take the motor out. He also has an 89 Kawasaki 650SX standup jetski that I also ride. They are a blast.

Here she is.

Many more pictures yet to come I'm sure.

Put the case back together on the jet ski today, still need to tighten the flywheel and driveshaft coupler half down to spec. Then I'll be assembling the top end. More pics have been added to the link posted above.

Got the case and flywheel all done so it was on to the top end.

First up was putting the studs in the new cylinders.

Then I got the new pistons out and ready for the rings.

Notice the difference on the piston pins. Left is stock and right came with the 1mm over pistons from SBT.

Top end together to measure squish. It came out to be .054" so that is good.

List of things to do is to take the head back off, put the new head gasket on, torque the head down, put the reeds and intake manifold back on, then the engine plate and put it back in the chassis. Then put the exhaust and carb back on.

Next projects are plastics on 08 Apex, bearing on 05 Viper 153", seat on other 05, and of course clean carbs on the 3 2 strokes...also have a 99 Polaris Sportsman 335 I need to take the motor apart on, leaking oil somewhere...possibly a hole in the case

Figured I'd start my things to do list again. I've already cleaned carbs on the 97 SX and then I put the seat on, cleaned powervalves, and cleaned carbs on the 144 05 Viper.

To Do
New clutch springs 97 SX
Clean clutches 97 SX
Clean and rejet carbs 05 153
Clean powervalves 05 153
Change weights in primary 05 153
Replace bearing in a bogey wheel 05 153
New exhaust donuts 07 Apex
New steering column bushings 07 Apex
Replace gas tank and misc plastic parts 08 Apex
Grease all
Clean carbs 01 MM 700 (Uncle's)
Put seat back on 01 MM 700 (Uncle's)
Install reverse on 05 Vector Mtn (Uncle's)
Reclutch primary 05 Vector Mtn (Uncle's)
Possibly Jacobson Rollover Valve with tether 08 Apex

We actually ended up taking it off. Fitment was ok but it does fit tight against the recoil cover with a rubber piece in between them, Sound level wasn't too much louder than stock. It did sound pretty nice. I think we still have it sitting on the bench. Definitely a lot lighter than the stock can though.

New project to work on in my garage, motor is leaking oil somewhere underneTH pretty bad. 99 Polaris Sportsman 335 4x4

I just redid the engine on my 2011 sportsman 500 was leaking oil all over also.. polaris four wheelers are horrible..

Yea I agree, if this one is gonna cost too much to fix we are just going to probably buy a new Honda.

I did all the work myself on mone cost me about 300$ in parts. and about two weekends worth of work by myself. haha good luck on the project.
