I have both an SRX and A Viper. Unless you are under 25 you prolly wont want to ride the SRX everyday. Im 20 and I don't haha. The viper is a way better sled IMO when your trail riding and taking it on the lake once in a while. For the Viper you can expect about 115 on a smooooottthhh lake with about 2000 feet. That's what my 02 er did when it was stock. The viper is one of the faster sled in the 700 range just watch out for the F7's and the SRX's they are pesty buggers lol
 
I would say that the SRX & F7 are in a 700 class all by themselves then there are the other 700's........LOL
 
Me and some of my friends here in Ottawa have srx's. Best top speeds are 107 mph for the 1998 , 115 mph for the 2000 and i hit 117 mph on the lake with my 2001 . These are all radar numbers and the sleds are stock. I was pretty satisfied with those runs. I imagine a little tweeking and could maybe gain a mile or 2.

Yep. Some would argue that the MXZ 700 belongs in this class too, but after watching my buddy smoke an 01 800 mxz with his stock 02 SRX, what chance would the 700 zx have???...
 
the 800's from doo were pooches then... i believe the 700 was faster in the zx chassis, but i honestly dont think they belong int he srx f7 class. buddy had an 02 mxz 700, and my 02 800 polaris would walk over it. i honestly believe a set up 02 xc 800 is in the class with the srx/f7.... mine ran about 107 in 1000' on ice. speedo pegged out on it... but i am hoping to pick up an srx tomorrow thats already clutched etc and ready to rock. guy who owns it ran 104 in 1000' with bare rubber track, no studs...

kinda off topic but untill i bought an srx i was told they only had top end... mine has great bottom and has great top end. since i first saw the 2002 srx i wanted one! im 17 now but when the 02 came out i was 9 i believe. that exact sled has always been my favorite and i got one in 2008. i have a fx nytro aswell and the nytro is the only thing quicker unless the conditions are PRIME then the srx is rite beside the nytro, then pulls away around 100 mph. to get back to how quick the srx is, i beat an 800r 3/5 which i think is great!

Wow, at 17 you can afford two sleds that nice. What do you do for work and r you hiring? Lol!
 
1998 SRX stock motor, and clutch.
Slung with Viper long travel suspension and long travel Ohlins in the front.
Best I can get is 99 mph on the lake with a GPS....dream o meter says 106.
Have the track hanging loose, and eating up the bumps on the trail.
