make sure it doesnt balloon in your front exchanger ... u didnt put the front protector :dunno: oh well i got a good good friend in case of accident with those radiator :winterrul

got front protector and tunnel protector.I am looking for a rear protector, but that doesn't seem so bad back there.I am going off the old scratch marks from previous track with studs from previous owner.Looks like if track rubber touches the protector up front, that the stud is still about 1/2" away from fins.Don't know how much it balloons, but must be some because of the previous track. But I don't remember what size the original studs were..I thru them in garbage.I probably will tighten track right up,as long as it spins easily with little effort by hand,I will be happy.

done deal!!!

well I got my SRX track studs installed .Hey mod..look at some of the exchanger damage I had from 2 years ago with the original stock track. This still worries me about the ballooning of track.Hard to believe it could balloon in the center section enough to reach the exchanger in front.I think it was explained once it is like a rolling effect of track over the drivers in that it can toss the track forward more..I don't know...I will tighten track up and keep an eye on it.

Some pics of new studs and some pics of the exchanger damage, but not enough to nail the actual exchanger.

I havent followed this thread but that track better be a 1in with that much stud above the lug.
the track needs to be clipped for the protectors or it is not going to be too fast and your mileage is going to suck.

I would sugest different tunnel protectors if your running tight studs. Use polaris style aluminum ones. they reiforce the tunnel so the full gas tank and the riders weight doesn't push down on the middle fo the tunnel so much and cause trouble.

I have not had any issues with these studsso far..have not touched the front exchangers at all.Them marks were old marks from previous stock track and studs the original owner had put in.I also put rear protectors in,noticed the other dat something flew and hit a fin and put a get dent up in one section..wander if it was a stone or one of the studs I lost a couple weeks back..lol

Also noticed yesturday that my track is pretty loose..hanging dowmn about an inch by itself..but still no issues.Maybe I should tighten it up a bit to avoid huge ballon effect going on.
