can you use liquid dawn dishsoap to wash a belt before you break it in? ive read about belt break in but never see what kind of soap to use. thanks
That will be fine, warm water, rinse well, let dry completely....

ok thanks...I had just never heard of wasing them....is that just to get any greasy residue off?

from my understaning there is a mold relaese on the belt when new washing takes it off along with any other grease.
Ya, you need a good break in of at least 25 miles. Use varying speeds along with variable throttle position,, After at least 20 miles you can give it gradual WOT for brief durations. U do not want to jab the throttle,, but want the belt to ride to the upper part on primary and be sucked down in the secondary... You don't want to run it at a steady speed or rpm during break in....
