example: engine and secondary lined up better for instant WOT,
skis could be alighned for less drag, better maintance and lubricated parts, better oils used, etc.
all the little things add up alot.
The biggest thing I have noticed is he has very strong compression in each cylinder. I think the last time we checked he had 130/147/147 across the board. The other thing is we both run Heavy Hitters. I have the newer 48 gram base weight arms while he runs the older version 46 gram arms which are not made anymore. (I think they work better) He has only 3200 miles while mine is at 7600. I did do a top end rebuild last year though. I could use a clutch refresh too. I did the cover bushing, helix bushing and secondary bushing but I still need fresh button shoes, spider tower bushings and the primary bushing that you need to break the spider apart to replace. Here is another thing. I have a rear cooler I added for running pipes a few years back. (back to stock now). I believe in stock form my tunnel holds more snow becaue the rear cooler keeps the overall exchangers cooler and the snow doesn't drop off the tunnel. With a deep lug track it starts rubbing in the tunnel after awhile. My dad does not have one and his doesn't accumulate as much snow as mine. After awhile it seems to scrub some top end off. Yesterday we hit the trail and I had just put on a new belt and cleaned my clutches. He was only pullling me by one length on long straight aways. I was seeing 110 and he was around 112. On the way home I could only squeeze 108 out of mine and he was leaving me in my snow dust. His was seeing 115 on the speedo. Man the trails were nice yesterday.......AUTOBON!! Hope no DNR guys are reading this!!
Heading out to ride the 2011's
