slp has the 5" leds for around $40. nice light. make sure you get the one with the 3 wire configuration compatable with the yamahas. i searched for about a month before coming across that one. western power sports dealers can get one as well, but it is bulky appearing by comparison. the stock yamaha skid weighs over 80 lbs. my 153 M7 skid came in at around 53 lbs, before its diet. i never weighed it after making the 2 wheel kit and dropping some bogies, so your not doing too bad running the heavy yamaha shock configuration vs the coiless fox shocks.

I think you have other issues. The mount location on the rails for the front w arm is too high to use the rear sissor/FRA mount as mounted. The FRA will bottom on the Warm mount. The only way I can see to change this problem would be to mount the rear sissor further back as on 136 pro actions. These mount about 6ish inches back from the 121 skids. This would give you the clearence needed.

thanks I will check that tonight as that is where I am at, deciding where to put the upper idler mount and the FRA. that is a good tip!!!BETHEVIPER said:I think you have other issues. your tip worked great and I had a 136 skid in the garage to look at. I will post pics soon, as I am working hard this weekend to keep progress going. The drop brackets end up being 3/4" from the rear of the heat exchangers on the running boards, that was a close one. you guys definitely have my back and I am grateful.BETHEVIPER said:I think you have other issues. Kinda an off topic question but what kind of seat is that and how is it attached to the tank? I've been looking at the polaris IQ seats for my viper.

This seat is off of an 03 yz 125, got it off ebay for 20 bucks and is in perfect shape, I am building a simple frame for it tonight and a small shock, the front pivots off the back part of the gas tank via 2 hiem joints, I will post pics as soon as its done.stretchSXV said:Kinda an off topic question but what kind of seat is that and how is it attached to the tank? Thanks Leavin' Tuesday fot Centennial, Just finished the seat tonight, have to install chaincase, gears, chain, brake, hook up new throttle and oil cables, new brake cable, wire in new handwarmers, install exhaust, maybe freshen up trailing arms and radius rods with new paint, install holtzmann atacc, check everything over, do airbox mods, install petscreen over all vents, install new clutch springs and adjust arms, maybe add some vents, then I have to finish getting my sons sled ready, new gears, carb main jets, and clutching, then I have to change oil and get truck ready. Never enough hours in the day, but I will be done!!! If your not busy this weekend could use the help. I wish i could. I love working on these things. a group of us will actually be heading out for centenial on the 24th and I have alot to do with mine before that. good luck with it and let me know how it does. what are you going to do for venting, I have a new hood sittin in the box so I am thinking that it is time to start carving up my old one and get some air to that baby. what has everyone done in that category. is there such a thing as to many vents and putting them in the wrong places. sorry to budge in on your thread here but i thought it kind of fit
any help would be great
thanks

There are several threads on here about air box venting, snakebit turned me on to these threads, there is a link on sw from my custom viper build thread to this, can't remember the title. A lot of guys runnin mesh hoods on vipers so I can't see why you couldn't cut yours up, pet screen from home depot works good, thats what I will be usinglive2rideyamaha said:I wish i could. Custom Viper Seat pics
Well here it finally is after thinking about this for several months and seeing guys attempt to put a motocross seat on a snowmobile, ( I have only seen one other one that I liked). The whole thing weighs about 7 pounds, and sits up about the height of a highrise, shock has a 750 pound spring in it, so should give good an hard bumps, but stay firm on the small stuff, this should work awesome from sitting to standing and feels like you are sitting on a more rider forward machine, especially with 8" risers.

viper seat
Your seat looks Bad A$$ but I wanted to show another concept that I think looks really good and it would be easy to do. A friend of mine owns a newer Ski doo and he bought a boss seat so i took his facotry and set it on my viper and it looks really good it even fits not to bad.
what do you think???

A little tweakin n that and you'll have a winner, just dye that yellow part black, the blue looks pretty close, I have heard of people putting the rev gas tank on yamahas too. Man I am praying that the snowies don't warm up, heard from a guy that it was headlight deep today, we leave tuesday.

Wyoming pics, finished viper and wrecked viper:-(
The viper was a lot of fun and worth the extra effort to get it done, did well out in the mountains, would rev and pull hard to 9100, I was kinda concerned about this but i need to call hauck and see what rpm these pipes are good to. Sled would climb unlike anything else I have owned, but that is not saying much. the power just kept coming on as I was headin up for climbs, always seemed to stay in the power band, the skid worked awesome and the transfer was sweet, but I had a bolt come loose on the lower w-arm mount on the last day, (I lock tited everything on the skid!!!) and it tore the upper w-arm mounts out of the tunnel!!! I am going to build a reinforcement plate for it and get it back together, hopefully headin out west for the weekend of apr. 17th
Mods are as follows:
Flipped shock bracket on trailing arms to raise front 2"
removed sway bar
custom cut skidplate
custom 2003 yz125 seat with monoshock
2010 arctic cat 162 rails with proaction skid parts (lots of custom stuff in here)
IPM 9" idlers with 1" offset axle
IPM 7" carrier idlers
attack 20 162" track (trimmed to fit :-(
Wahl 7 tooth drivers
custom tunnel extension
Arctic cat crossfire rear cooler
Mountain addiction gas rack
Slydog powderhound skis
RSI 8" riser
RSI handlebars, pivot adapter and pad
Powermadd handguards and mountain strap
Holtzmann attac
Hauck husher pipes
Carbontech reeds
Stock primary with GWG spring and inner al. rivets
Hauck 43 degree sec. Helix with silver spring 90 twist
19-42 gearing
custom ram air intake with functional ram air and frogskin moisture protectors on dash and ram air pods (works awesome I will do a thread on this as I took lots of pics)
Large billet gas cap
Billet pull start
petscreen over all vents
custom LED brake light
custom transfer kit
The cool thing about all of this is it wouldn't be possible without all the help I received on this site and sw. Everyone here was looking out for me and many eyes are better than 2 and i hope I can add my findings to others on this site and help the same way others have helped me!!! Thanks again TY
