ANY WAY to get SRX to run better in mild temps?

It is like 42 F here today.Last night put 3.6 inner and 5 outer rivets in..stock y-w-y primary and red at 80 with stock helix.The SXR will launch a little better with out that BLAH bog feeling..but wot is only 8000 and 90 mph on speedo.You sure can feel the resistance weigh in in these snow conditions.
Had my stepson's v-max600 out for a small run..itset up stock works fine today.Pin it and the ski's lift and she launches hard and rpm's are right up there..7800-8000.It doesn't loose rpm because of the snow.I know it is jetted down quite a bit..so maybe runs better in this weather wheras the SRX is jetted up 1 from stock.
I even tried green spring at 70 and maybe getting 8200..but can feel sluggish,but the vmax just rips without that feeling..why????
 
ya new someone would say that.Don't know if I want to remove carbs and change for one more ride..lol.But still the rpm's are low with near stock setup and new belt installed a few weeks back.Probably gearing down wouldn't hurt either..but don't have any gears to try.Oh well..if I put the 51/43 back in..it will pu rpm's for sure..but sled is not as snappy at launch and speed is down on this crap snow.Jetting could be the ticket I know for a more responsive motor in mild temps.It has the 2001 SRX jetting in now.

tearing into the carbs does suck. i would do it for one last ride but im done riding for this season.
 
don't look like temps will be dropping much next week and on.I had a tempa flow on my 600 years back..but sold it.I don't know if I would trust one on my SRX.Is there any way to install fuel injectors to the SRX..lol..that would be great...no worries about jettig.

I have a special tool that I bought from Maxium performance. It is round knurled tool that holds the jets and all you have to do is remove air box loosen carbs from intakes. Pull carbs from motor turn on there side . Then remove 17mm bottom plug and change out jets. You don't have to take off any cables, electrical plugs, or coolant lines. Just make sure you don't drop the plug from the bowl under the motor. I always lay a rag down just to be safe. I have done it many times even in the field and it takes about 10 minutes max to change main jets on my 01 SRX. The hardest part of the whole process is putting the air box back. Because you have to take it apart to make sure it sealed on the carbs right
 
ryan..you think going back to stock jetting will make that much difference..that's all I have here anyways.I could do that..about an hours labor with the carbs
 
will going down one size jetting help in a sluggish feelling snow dragger too or will this hurt the sled it's for my 00 700 SRX and it's the same temps as bluemonster1 stated went to snow drags yesturday the sled didn't feel fast or responsive
 
the spec sheet for the srx in 0-800 elevation shows 150/148.8/148.8 in 20*F to 0*F.If I install the stock jets back...147.5/146.3/146.3..they are rated in the 60*F to 40*F range and show to use 37.5 pilots....what the!!!that is a stock setup for 2002 SRX.I quess they depended on the DCS to really do the job.

For 40*F to 20*F ..it says to use 148.8/147.5/147.5 and 40 pilots.
But this sled comes with 42.5 pilots stock....
I have the 148.8 and 1-147.5 and short 1-147.5 to go that route.Ido have 40 pilots.
So going from 2001 specs to stock 2002 specs stock sure puts it in the area of warm riding..go figure.
But I rode the sled that way(stock) first time I got it and was riding in way colder temps..but DCS would flash.So should be fine then for mild weather.I wander if I should put pilots at 40 then with stock jetting,I rather not do that.
 
needasrx..what jetting are you running now that it is sluggish.The 2000 jetting spec is the same as 2002 specs and that in our elevation is for riding in 40 to 60 F or4 to 16 Celcius..just curious what you have now in there.I can see that my sled should really be more responsive with the stock setting in these temps..but I also have DCS backing me up..you don't..
 
what i've been running all winter the heelclicker's I bought from you they worked great when it was colder now the sled doesn't feel as responsive as it should be, but the RPM's are spot on 8100 launch 840-8500 at the 660 mark but i'm getting beat by sleds that I had beat before so thats why I'm looking at going down in jetting for this weather to see if it would help me out
 
I wouldn't go down anymore on jetting if you are stock..or else kaboom!!! I am running rich right now and can go down to stock and probably gain some quickness.You were running stock jetting all winter..you are lucky you didn't blow her up in the colder temps..I mean LUCKY.In colder temps with stock jetting a few years back my DCS was always coming on..so I moved up to 2001 specs and cleared that issue.
 
are the other sleds newer sleds with fuel injection,not carbs.NEEDASRX..what is your elevation up there by the way..just want to check something out..
