what kind of pipes are these?

Use stock springs at the manifolds not benders they break , make sure you put ALL the springs on all the other places to keep them tight

i went on a 140 mile ride yesterday and and i had the best fuel economy out of all the guys i was runing with (zr800 and two pro-x 700s). whats the best set of pipes i should be looking for to get max hp and best fuel economy. i know that may be an oxymoron but im sure some pipes must have better mpg than otheres?

Pipes really hurt economy regardless of brand. In general you'll go from 13-15 mpg with the stock exhaust to 8-10 mpg with pipes.Once in a while you'll talk with someone who has pipes and decent mpg, but there jetting very closely for the conditions of the day. This is time consuming and a bit troublesome on these sleds.

makes sense...what from your experience whats the max reliable horespower that these red head motors can produce. is there alot of porting that can be done.?

yeah, porting will wake these sleds up. seems like your interested in max power? thing is, that a pipe that makes most peak hp, sometimes isn't always the best for the trails, cause it sometimes makes like no bottom hp, so the bottom end is flat. my bro's buddies cpr piped sx-r is a pooch on the bottom IMO. totally flat. sled does nothing under 6000 rpm. if i was him, i would look into a set of pipes that gives a broader power curve. i think the psi mod blasters were good all around pipes?? can someone confirm??

my plan is to have a nice comfortable trail sled that can have a lil extra snot when needed. ive already upgraded to long travel suspension which is awsome and would like to have the best of both worlds. understaning ofcorse that longer travel suspension can rob a few mph.

I can't speak specifically about psi's, but XTC Jeff's sled with porting and Bender pipes rips pretty much everywhere, the only downside is it likes fuel as has been mentioned.I think the only other pipes with broad power like benders is power inc.'s, but there quite a bit louder I understand.
