Hey guys, I had the engine out of my 2002 MMax due to oil leaks from one of the oil hoses, so I decided to change them all out and use tye raps to secure them instead of the factory steel sleeve clamps which are very weak now. anyhow, my delima is which way do the check valve arrows face, there are two of them, one between the oil pump and fuel pump, the other between the oil pump and the bottom of the crank case. The manual don't show any pics but says in one place to face the arrowws towards the crank case, fine i guess for the fuel pump one, but what about the other one? i don't want to guess here and loose my engine.....

The check valve arrows should always point in the direction of the oil flow, always away from pump.
-oil flows from oil pump to fuel pump
-oil flows from oil pump to crankcase
Like bufalobob says use the metal hose clamps if possible

thanks, that was my problem, the book said point towards crankcase so i had the one in backwards between the engine and the fuel pump, and it ended up forcing oil/gas out of the line, not the clamps at all, re-oriented it and went for a test ride-all ok now. Thanks The book should just say arrows flow away from oil pump :)
