99vmax 700 deluxe with reverse. what oil did yamaha use factory in the chain case. if i cant get ahold of some amsoil what should i use instead. thank you
75-80, same oil as a non reverse model.

could i use some 75w-90 syn or 75w-140. i have that.

The recommended oil in my manual states..
As long as it meets those specs fill it up with 8.8 ounces or so. I'd go with the "right" product over the "it works" product. The Amsoil gear oil isn't too expensive. The Series 2000 Synthetic Chaincase Oil Product Code: TCCBE-EA is $6.95 plus shipping and tax. Cheaper than the gasket and way cheaper than a set of bearings.
