how much and what length

I'm going to get some Woody's Chisels for the SRX and this is for all out racing on grass and Ice, my ? is what size is better 1.2 or 1.06 and how much is needed 144 or 192

I know it's been asked on here before just asking for some help

TELL YA THATS A TOPIC THAT IS HARDLY EVER DISCUSSED HERE. WHEN IT COMES TO SET-UP FOR CHISELS, I THINK YOU CAN REALLY GET AROUND 168 TO HOOK UP NICE IF YOUR SKID IS SET-UP RIGHT ESPECIALLY ON ICE. I ALWAYS USED THE 1.2 WITH THE .092 TRACK. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
Tony did you have to modify the heat exchange protectors too run the 1.2's, how about the tunnel protectors will they rub anywhere
 
I run 162 1.060 woody chisels , they hook up on both awesome, there is no need for any more, might evenbe able to do a 144 pattern.

To save money, time, weight and rotating mass, cant you shave the lugs down to .50 on the stock yokohama and run .75 chisels? Then you would be able to easily run 10 tooth drivers for less rolling resistance from the better angle.
 
Do you have any problems of the woody's studs breaking? Is there a certain way too put them on like 3 per bar staggerd, christmas tree, 2-4 2-4 any body have some pictures of there pick track with the chisels

Best bet is to get a speed track with 192 1.060 chisels. t-nut style work the best also.

you got it all right except the base weight of the yokohoma 44lbs is still to heavy, as oposed to a 9791 36lbs or a kimpex 32lbs .72 and .78 lugs..
if your gonna shave it down to run the 10tooth drivers , get a speed track @
28lbs . if allowable ....regardless if our gonna enter a event then saving money is no gonna get you a prize ...IMO

All The Years Around Sleds I Never Did Any Of That Track Shaveing. Like Vince Posted, Get The Track For Your Needs Or Run Your Stock One. And No Why Would Woody Studs Break ? Unless Your Gonna Run Over Rock. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
how are the Studboy studs like the Assisins will they hold up like the woody's chisels
 
Already ordered 192 Woody's will be here next week WooHoo!

I'm going to use 144 and use the other bag for spares or if I need more I can add some Thanks Guys ;)! :2strokes: :yam: :yrules:

I did not get my chisels yet but did anyone have to modify the rear heat exchanger protectors so the chisels don't cut them also ;)! :letitsnow :letitsnow
 
howabout studding up a trail track with chisels will they tear out or do I have to buy an actual grass/Ice drag track for the chisels?
 
I finally got my chisels today I'm putting them on a .725 track are the 1.205 too much, will they tear up my tunnel I have the front protectors the rear protectors and tunnel protectors will I be fine ;)! :letitsnow :letitsnow :2strokes:
 
I used to run 1.25's on a .725 track (Camoplast 9791). You'll be ok. They do touch a bit, but only once, and not enough to damage the heat exchangers :) Keep the track tight.
 
Here's a photo of the track I'm going to be putting on my SRX for Ice racing, are the studs out too much or will it be just right? I did measure the lug height and is .5 not .725 like earlier mentioned, I'm just concerned that these will hit my tunnel and heat exchangers front and back
