I think Sideshowbob runs the team driven clutches on his Yammies. He might be able to answer your questions.

I have not run one on a srx, but tested them against other drivens. The TSS-04 works real well. The clutch works better with more weight and spring combos, so the range of "what works" is alot more then others. I don't see a big gain in peak hp, just some gain all around the shift rpm. You can make the same hp with others, but you work to get it.

I don't want it to sound like this makes clutching easy, it's not. But when you do have a team right, you can play with primary more and know the driven is right on.

I'd pass on the TSS-98, TSS-04 work and new team tied sould top them all but I'd wait till more are out. Are the worth the money? Not sure, we use Ti springs and custom cut helix. So cost per hp gain is not good. Your call I'd say.

I have run the Team secondaries on my VMAX4s and my 2002 SRX.
I have both a Team Tied clutch + a couple of Team TSS-04s and have numerous Helixs for both styles.
I really like these clutches for the trail riding I do.

Positives:
-relatively easy to tune
-seamless upshift + downshift
-very high quality
-run very cool
-good in deep snow
-no belt slip
-great all round performance

Negatives:
-high spring side pressures at full shift[can't be avoided do to its design concept]
-older designs are a little heavier then stock[TSS-04 approx 9lbs 5oz]
-special tools required to change springs
-had a slight clearance issue with lip of bulkhead when clutch was fully shifted, so I had to trim the lip with a dremel

On my trail mod 2002 SRX, I set up a Team Tied + a TSS-04 as best as I could by changing springs, Helixes ect and using adjustable Heavy Hitters in my primary and I could not get a higher top speed[GPS] or quicker 660'[head to head against my Improved stock 700SX] then my Yamaha secondary setup I was running. This is all on a 144" sled, on hard packed snow, 1 1/4" ripsaw, no studs.
Having said this I could get the Team clutch to work very well in pretty well all normal ridiing situations and still run pretty close to my drag race setup I had using a Yamaha secondary.

I ran the Team Tied on my SRX all last season[approx 3500 miles] with absolutely no issues and have no plans to run anything else.

Bob, can you tell me what you are/were running for a setup in the 04 team on your 144 srx? I've got a 98 version on my 144 srx and just want to see if we are similar.

Thanks, Ryan.

I don't have the 04 on the SRX right now I have the "Tied" clutch but when I ran the TSS-04 I used the 58/42 helix with a red/blue spring for all around performance.

I'd like to find a good deal on the tied, but until then I'm stuck with my old 98. Thanks for the info on the 04. Sounds like we are/were using about the same setup in them.
