They ride like a cattle wagon but I love mine. The pogo stick front end keeps you guessing. You never know quite how it is going to react where you are going to land. I would suggest that you pull the skid out of it and change all the bearings, Clean the carbs, pull off the secondary and grease both bearings including the one that the speed cable is attached to. I use a pick and pull out the cover. Clean and pack with fresh grease. The sleds are bullet proof providing that you perform these tasks. I had 2 that I rode for 6 years......
Hey Pete!
That's the sled that I just bought. Did some work on it yesterday. Pulled the rear shocks for rebuild and started cleaning/regreasing all of the pivot points in the front suspension scissor arms. The left shock (strut?) seems to stick a bit and I am trying to figure out if the suspension was binding and not allowing it to fully rebound. I have 2 good struts on the way in case I have to replace any.
I probably won't pull the whole ski out of it before this season. That will be a nice spring/summer/fall project and I can have Pete (amatosrx) powder coat everything while it is apart.
As far as the jumping... this is my first sled so there will be quite a learning curve before I get into doing any too crazy.

It looks like it may have the Bender Big 10 long travel front stuts in it. It looks like it is sitting pretty high in the front. As for the rear suspension, they are junk. Make sure you take everything apart in the skid and make sure everything is lubed and working properly. If there is any binding in the rear suspension coupling action, It will brake the front shock mount off of the front arm. When it break it usually gets stuck in the track and screws the track up also. I have 3 sleds with the Bender Pro-max set-up. They are very rare. Nice sled. Jeff Wurl
u want to get rid of that gyt pipe let me know
I won't be getting rid of anything off this sled. It appears that everything is working fine in the rear suspension and we just got done having the rear shocks rebuild and powder coating the springs. I have also put a set of Viper plastic skis on it. Should be ready to ride pretty soon (after I get around to studding the track).

nice powdecoat you have there. i cant wait to ride this beast.twyztid said:I won't be getting rid of anything off this sled. When did you take that picture?
It's still missing the rest of the bogie wheels.

If you really think the Bender suspension is "junk", why do you have 3 of them?
I have never seen or rode a sled with that skid but it looks AWESOME!!!!
from the pics...... the geometry and stance looks similar to an M-10......

Should hook up pretty good with 144 studs and 8" carbides.

I had the same 95 VMAX 600. Love the Black with the bright colored graphics! I rode it over 8,000 milesnad it never left me in the woods. I "upgraded" to the XTC rear skid, and it made a big difference, although not like an M10.
I think the front Pogos on your have the Bender long-travel kit in them. It sits higher than mine. Heres a couple pics of mine when I sold it in 2007 and got my 02 Viper ER.

It's sitting on dollies in that last photo. The front suspension on mine looks pretty much the same as yours to me.
That's a nice sled you had there, by the way.

Took the Vmax for a quick ride for the first time in Pete's (amatosrx) backyard tonight and it seems to run very well. Can't wait to get some REAL ride time in.
