Unplugging will just revert the CDI to a rpm based advance curve so you may or may not notice a difference. I don't think Blue noticed any change when he unplugged his.

actually I unplugged mine and the motor couldn't pull over 8000 and was worse off.Then I was told that my TPS should be fine.But I knew from how this sled felt 3 years back and now it is flat even after a re-build.that something was up mostly electrical like.Well the old TPS was sending the same voltage thru as the new one,only thing was I couldn't calibrate it to .68 at idle..only to .79 I believe.Doesn't sound like much and seems like it would still work..but not.New TPS convinced me of that...
