i guess you could say mines long travel, in the rear at least. i swapped in a suspension from an 07 IQ. according to polaris thats a 14.5" travel (supposedly). havent done anything to the front yet, not sure if i want to. im afraid it will screw with the handling. how does yours corner with the front lifted like that?

thanks man. it handles great, still corners like a slot car and will eat the bumps soo much better. those studder bumps that were so bad with the pro-action you dont even feel them anymore with this skid.

Holy Arctic Cats, Batman!

yeah tell me about it. i like being different, plus they need someone to tow them back when they break down! (which they do, often)

1fastvmax just wanted to say that srx looks mean with the front and rear raised! So i was wondering what u did to the front i have everything but the viper shocks to do the long travel rear and everyone says if u do the rear u have to raise the front. So on yours u used the stock front shocks but just flipped the brackets and added spacers? Can I ask where you got those spacers? ;)!

My buddy made me a 1 1/4" spacer + i flipped the brackets too, the picture above doesnt have long travel shocks, what i did was weld a extension on the skid where the shock bolts up so the shock length is longer, it worked great i didnt have to buy new shocks. heres a picture of if with a 03 rx1 skid i just picked up:)

1fastvmax man that is a sweet setup with those spacers and that rx1 skid, im gonna basically do the same thing and put viper shocks in the skid minus the spacers. So the sled rides good with that setup, did u notice any difference in handling with the higher front end? Again sweet sled looks nice! ;)!

Thanks:) Sounds like you have a little bit of work ahead of you, can wait to see some pics. I didn't ride it with shock suspension, the first day I got it I started on the suspension;)

oldy but a goody, sled is still going last I knew.
I used ohlins fronts but when I had it for sale, I switched them out for cheepy xt front shocks.

Custom tank bag? How do you love that seat?
yes it's a small bag that I had the guy make me after the seat was done. It's primarily to fill the gap between the seat and filler cap, but I use it to store a pair of riding gloves and a pair of work gloves. The seat is nice. I rode an Apex on the weekend and I didn't feel as out of place as I usually did when I rode it because the dimensions are similar (height of seat and bars). My only issue is I find my seat a little wide. Although it's not any wider than stock, my legs end up straighter, so going around the stock seat's tunnel pads is slightly more difficult. Not a big deal, but if I did it again I might remove the foam from the sides.

can you explain or post a picture of the spacers? I'd like to see where they install and what they look like. thanks.

1fastvmax you definitly had the right idea by long traveling your sled right away! I got most of the stuff to do the skid just need some viper shocks and im currently on the hunt for some ohlins shocks! Hope i can get mine riding good. great job ;)!
