Srx Long Travel Pictures

Hello. guy from norway here :)

I have a 99 SRX that have been built to a 136" track. but my problem is that it is werry low on the back and when i sit on it its almost like it bottoms.

Look at all the pics in this tread and realy wonder. how do you get your rides so high?

do you just change the shocks to longer ones and that solve the problem with hight?, and what kind of shocks do you use? length and stuff like that.

Hope some of you can tell me so i can use my sled the way i want to use it, in the snow and not just at the track :)

Thanks for all help :)

A lot of guys use viper, sxr, xtc shocks.I have a long travel front end listed in the classafieds for sale.I will check but may have some viper rear shocks too to make a complete front and rear long travel kit if anyones interested.

so if i understand this right, this long travel system you guys use is just longer shocks and springs than the original ones?

what is stock shock and spring lengts on the srx then? :)

You have to run diffrent radius rods and tie rods for the front long travel and get new upper shock brackets because all the long travel shocks have a fork on them instead of the eyelet.the kit i have in the classafieds includes all that.

yeah that is for the front right?

i was most interested in the changes you do to get the rear up, becouse my sled is werry low on the rear :(

Yes thats for the front. You can boldt the shocks right in your rear skid.I forgot what years srx had the shorter limiter straps the 98-99 or 2000 and up.You need the longer ones to get full use of the longtravel.

okay :)
going to see if i can get the hold on some longer shocks and limiter straps here in Norway :),
realy hope this helps to get the sled up and more useable in the snow :)

I put Rx1 shocks on My Sled. I did not change the limiter straps because they were on back order and have no issues. I am a big guy and it made a great difference. I did not flip the front brackets because we mainly ride on groomed trails and need the handling. I have since bought a XTC and it sits the same as my RX 1 equipped.

the springs stands on max tension and the limiter straps i have on now are like violin strings and are maxed out to. so think that i have to change everything to get some hight on the back of the sled

I was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question?

looking good bud,,but the snow is not for real..lol

Lol, you didn't notice the date on the pictures? Dec 2010? I havent even fired the ol' girl up yet this year!
But we did get about 6 inches a couple days ago... hopefully more comes soon so we can salvage a little bit of the year!

So looking at all these pics I would also be interested in long traveling my srx do these other skids like that nytro one just bolt up how much modding is involved

I had to drill all(4) new holes...really not too bad. I've been riding a bit and think it's in right. I had the measurements off a nytro but really only the distances from the driveshaft matter. Need some hard pack so I can dial in the weight transfer....definitely rides better though.

how do you like the vmax with the arrow skis?
Those skis are awesome, I got them because of your recommendation. They steer as light as a dooly carbide but have excellent bite, I like them better than my C&A's.
