1994 vmax 600 with reverse,replaced the secondary shaft last year with a new unit,because i stripped the shaft where it goes into the other at the reverse setup.well quess what ?it did it again today,arggggh!is there a fix for this poor setup or am i doomed?i got pulled in by a polaris today and needless to say right now im not a very happy camper.

Not posative but I think the newer 1 peice shaft will fit on there. someone else will know for sure, but I think it works.

I had forgotten about that, you are talking about the collar that slips over the jackshaft and a stub shaft that goes into the chaincase I'll bet. You could either replace the shaft with a solid one, get the one you have now welded, in any case it is going to require removal. Might be able to get one at a salvage yard. I had a 94 and a 95, and I think the 95 was a one piece. You might be able to find a used one piece at one of the salvage yards.
