Father and daughter viper project!!

Looking really good. Purple should be pretty cool.
I use aircraft paint remover same company. Just don't let it touch your skin because it burns and peals the skin.

Also good stuff. I would use it but cant find it at local stores here. I bet pretty close to the same stuff if ya compared them??

Finished the powder coat today, and the purple turned out better then expected. The pics make it look more pink but in person its purple, (signal violet) is actual name and is a dead match for purple on her wrap. Also a little blue, ended up with just a slight orange peel to them but close enough. Must have put it on a hair thick and temps not hot enough for good flow out. Next step is finish cleaning the sled and bring her back to life!!

Totally diggin the purple looks better than I thought it would. Can't wait to see it all come together. That sled is going to sweet looking!

Looks really good. I was wondering if the heat would afect the spings at all. Possably change them or the ratings?? IDK it was just a thought I had.
I have yet to buy the powder coat set up. But watching your project is pusshing me closer. So many items I could use it for. My biggest hang up with it is having the room or space for everything.

Is it possable to put the blue parts back in the oven again and try to get it to flow or smooth out? Or dose that not work that way?

No you can't recook them, They look fine as is. I could strip and redo them but it's one of those things that no one would notice unless I told them or they knew about Powder coating. The pic brings it out more, you cant really see it with unless you are looking for it.

The heat has no effect on the springs. Would need way more heat then 400 deg to change the properties of the metal. The powder coat holds up well on the springs.

Last 2 days have finally been nice around here, it snowed up north all day sat and sunday off and on. Yesterday we cleaned up the chassis really good. Even elizabeth could join me as she had a afternoon after college that she didnt have to work so i put her to work. LOL!! Was nice to have her around working with me. I asked her where the work robe was but i didnt get much of a response back, LOL!! Today i stripped the stickers and gave the hood a real good cleaning prepping for the hood wrap. THis will have to wait as im on a long weekend at the hospital but hopefully soon! Few pic's from today and yesterday.

Well i ended up not being able to sleep today before work so i got to work on the hood wrap. Not only did i find this not to be hard it went on very easy. The wrap was very forgiving to pulling up and repostitioning. Turned out pretty awesome we think! Better then both of us expected by far. The colors are off through pic's a bit but they all go great together and the white hood screens help break up all the deep colors. Even had time to put it all back together, hood done!

OK i lied, wasnt really done with powder coat just yet LOL!! Decided to do a few more parts! Did my first 2 part color piece. A lot of masking ect.... to make it look good but the rox sled treads with my cat rail mod turned out perfect with the matte black boards and purple rails.
