Don't look good for spring flooding
 

no snow..everything is now melting..snow is becoming soft and if I go into a section of deep snow,sled will sink all the way thru and I would be stuck there until the flood comes to get me..Supposed to get colder during the day and night..maybe up to -3 Friday..so will try 1 last shot of riding..going to be a little bumpy and rough now.Man it came fast the warm weather..melting away here and Saturday to be plus 9 C..so it is done for the season.I am getting stuff ready to move and planning for the flood that will be coming.Looks like Fargo's melt is ahead of us..so we will get their water before we melt down..so overland flooding could be quicker this time.Unless we get a major snow storm like April7/1997..the melt is on..I won't attempt to go on the River Friday also..just along the ditches and floodway system..
 
we are hosting Snow drags this weekend in Duck Bay, Mb still have 2 1/2 feet of snow here sure would like it if you can show up LOL!!! bring your 8Bu-10 set-up and try it

How many miles did you put on your sleds seems like alot of money on fuel for how much trouble you had with your srx.
 
I put on approx 1400 miles on the SRX and 1140 miles on the SXR so far.Going to take the SXR out one more time tomorrow because it is getting colder again for a day.
My total receipts for premium gas is $1422.29.I have kept all my receipts for every year starting back at least 5 years ago.Now oil was a little over $200 approx.
There you go...don't even want to figure out how much it cost me per mile to ride..it wouldn't be on the cheap side//lol

on a good note..I rebuilt both motors last fall and the motors are still intact..no blow up.My DCS only came on once all season...
If the flood comes..I will try to submit a bill for erecting my floodwall and cleanup..should make enough there to fix up the SRX again...
 
That is a good riding season. I thought I was doing good at 2600km (my best ever) I dont run premium in my sleds so that would bring the cost up alot.
 
yep..going premium is costing a little extra..but still costly running sleds these days,especially when I am only getting an average of about 10 miles to the gallon... :o| #$%&*

PS: pinning the SRX doesn't help either..but what other way is there to ride it...... :rulez:
 
WELL..just when I thought it was over for the season..we have a new forecast for tomorrow for 10 to 15 cm of new snow..yahoo!! Great stuff man and our next flood forecast is on Wednesday..and then we plunge into -18C nights again.So one last go at it... ;)! :letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow
 
Mike..you guys are really going to be in for a wet spring..not to good..this spring is going to be tragic for a lot of people...I have one of the highest houses out this side of town..learned that from 97 flood..but still a pain in the azz.

here is a pic of my mom's house during the 97 flood..she lived straight behind me on the village road,I am on Hwy 75 myself.

the storm has been down played for us and you guys up north.Seems like it all will be heavy snow near the border.Grand Forks is going to get nailed with up to 45 cm(18inches).Guess where all that is going after it melts..right past my door.... :o|

believe it or not..but it is snowing really good here right now.Tempted to take out a sled for a rip in the morning...over an inch an hour ago and snowing all night..woohoo....April 15th..not to shabby.

Usually it it here already lol, Sledding season is usually done by the end of march and most of the snow is gone by the end of april. And yes we usually see a decent summer..... -30 c in the winter then +30 and humid in the summer gives us the best of both worlds so to speak. ;)!

Nice little downfall we had last night, and I just got my new bike together :o| Was thinking of cruising it out your way today if the weather was like last weekend. ;)!
