Was able to put a set of these red ones in my 97 sx. Because of the slightly longer length of them,(4 extra SMDs) I had to remove the 1 piece speedo/tach assembly. Once I had it out, I took the back off and removed the light reflector/deflector so this longer bulb would fit. My 97 sx is red.... so I went with red LEDs. This particular bulb has 9 of em on it. I have gotten many different kinds and found that this type (smd) put out the most light. The dash resembles a Pontiac Sunfire dash .....illuminating red.
The blue ones were in my sons blue 99 sx. Direct fit. Plug and play. Which also looks very very good. His electrical system seems to be a bit stronger as well.
I think the draw for stock incandesents is somewhere around 7w apiece. These 168 SMDs are well under 1 w apiece.
These LEDs have 3 emmiters in each little square. Hence 3 times more light than single emmitter LED SMDs.

I think the stock rear stop light is @ 17w. The LED SMD 1157 draws only @1w. I should be saving somewhere @ 30-40 watts from the tail light and dash lights.

Any update on the focus issue?

I finally got the led H4's that I ordered so I tried them out and first off they didn't work at all. So I hooked them up to a battery and tested them, they worked. The problem was the wiring on the srx was backwards (ground and power) and an led will not work backwards like a halogen. Once it was rewired I tested them in the headlight housing and was very disappointed. I have not tested them in the dark yet but in the garage they would barely light up the wall where the halogen would illuminate a large spot on the wall.
I am going to rig up a headlight housing connected to a battery and test it at night, I will get some pictures of the light difference.

All I have to say is these lights suck as head lights.... not very bright at all. The dont have any type of depth to them.

yes I am also having issues with these. the light seems to be diffused and not focused enough.

I also had them flicker.

LEDs miiiiiight be ok for fog lights. That's probably a big 'might' too. It's more than likely that all they will be good for is indicator/stop/position(corner) lights.
At least that is what I have come to the conclusion of.

Are you talking about the three wires that plug into the H4? should be green, yellow, and blue. Have you identified the wires, which is constant 12v?
So, this is what I have so far...
I have leds in both gauges including high beam indicator and warning lights, an 1157 (dual) led tail light/brake light, this so far costed me about $10 (Super Bright LEDs).
As for the headlight, I have a '98 retrofitted with a dual headlight with stock '98 stator. Im currently finishing up wiring 2 35watt HID Hi/Lo(bulb magnetically shifts within reflect housing) headlights, I have tested everything using a 12 volt source other then the sled's, as the motor is not finished. It all works really well! The source for the HID's is ddmtuning.com, prices of the kits have gone up since I purchased, starting at $45 add $12 for Hi/Lo. So far, I think this is the best way to get better lighting for the least amount of money, ddm also has a lifetime warranty on the HID kits.
Led's are great for iluminating light however they are poor at directing and focusing light.

I forgot to add, that I have a battery on board for the electric start, and that is where I pull my 12v source to ignite the ballasts.

Yah those were the wires, I just had to switch them around to get the correct polarity on the led bulb. I forget if my sled was different from the wiring diagram or not.F0X06 said:Are you talking about the three wires that plug into the H4? should be green, yellow, and blue. Which bulbs did you get for the dash lights from that site?
