Looks like your going to get your very own Winnipeg Jets back very soon. All I can say is its about time and that they should of never left. I have been a Jets fan since day one and have never really cheered for another team other than the Canadian teams to get Hockey's Holy Grail back on Canadian soil. They sure better call the team the JETS again I dont like Thrashers at all. In the mean time though its GO NUCKS GO!

they won't use the Jets name..Chipman owns the name.I think people will go for a few seasons and then it will dribble down.Ticket prices will be to high for an average family to go to a game.I think hockey is for the rich now..like in many sports.The Moose who are the farm team for Vancouver will likely go east and will become our farm team.We have such good players coming out of this town and Vancouver gets them,about time we start to keep them ourselves.
 
Gary Betman stated that Canada is were the heart and soul of the game is.He took'th away and now he give'th back a NHL team...
Surprised no one threw a pie in his face at his announcement here in Winnipeg.Time will tell if this town can support a NHL team.Things have changed in 15 years..mostly wages ..so tickets prices will be UP..

Why did the Winnipeg Jets even have to go back 15 years ago anyways..he won't really get into that...h'mm!
 
he also stated if the arena is not filled to capacity every game,this will not work out then..
So on a -30 night and a last place team comes into town to play our team.HOW many people will show up..not many..Maybe give it like 4 to 5 years and the team may have to be pulled out again...
 
I think your wrong my man the NHL in Winnipeg is there to stay. If teams like the Coyotes and Thrashers can hang on for this long in red ink even if they are breaking even they will be fine. The name will be the Jets is my prediction.
 
For one there is a salary cap in place now where it was not back then. Two our dollar is not worth 60 cents usd anymore but at par. New arena new managment better corporation spending due to better economy. I am not going to argue the point time will tell.
 
First. I am excited for this final. Honestly, my most anticipated final in many years.

Second, on the whole Winnipeg front. Will hockey work in Winnipeg, yes. Will it be an instant success, yes. Will it be an instant money maker, NO. These teams cost alot, and the ticket revenue, and TV revenue wont handle it for the first couple years. Luckily, there are owners with deep pockets, who know it takes time to build a successful business.
The only comment I have was about the whole Phoenix/Atlanta thing, and how they survived without getting pulled a long time ago. I dont understand it, but that whole Southern US, new expansion team era stuff was Gary Bettmans little "child". He had a hard-on for that whole thing, and doesnt want to see it fail, because he was the big promoter of it. Now if Winnipeg makes it down the road 7 years and starts to slide a bit, if someone thinks he(bettman) wont push to have the team yanked out of Winnipeg, I would argue that point. Bettman is a straight up idiot in my opinion. I just hope that Bettman gets fired.... and soon!

OK, just my rant for now....lol
