I am planning on a top end on my 02 SRX with 11000 miles. Where is the best place to buy pistons, rings, cage bearings etc. I think I want to put in a new oil pump?

SRX_700 said:It's a shame these Yami motors already need to be rebuilt after 5,000 miles. I have a 97 800 Rotax motor in my seadoo with 212 hours on it and it still pumps factory compresion and RPM. I average 40 miles an hour so do the math. Oh yeah btw, friction on water is way more wear and tear on a motor than ice and snow and cold temps any day.
Lol, I know you must be kidding on that statement....Yammi tripples are the most reliable built...rare you would have to touch them at 5000 miles...must not have been maintained very well.
All I'm doing is rings and maybe new pistons if there out of spec, maybe crank bearings, maybe crank seals, maybe reeds, definately new spark plugs no biggieshadow44 said:Lol, I know you must be kidding on that statement....Yammi tripples are the most reliable built...rare you would have to touch them at 5000 miles...must not have been maintained very well.

you should crack the cases and inspect and should replace water pump seals and oil seals all around also....

Maybe
I'm indefinate need of topend rebuild now maybe a full rebuild trail port lakeracer BB kit after what I seen today at the race track with these F7's, it was like I was dragging an achor. I think it 4-5 sled lengths in 500ft they beat me by and these 2 F7 are hayday racers and have done very well in the states racing scene which are local boys from Winnipeg, going to need a whole new game plan for these guys.......LOL

you needa$$$ new sled. One that is more current and lighter.End of story.PU an F7 and tune it up good and beat them slackers..lol Time to put your SRX to rest..use it as your ditch banger..11 years old,it is tired and has gained to much weight...out with the old and in with the new if you intend to keep up with the racing scene Andy.

if u have a 2000 srx, the crank is welded. not practical to replace the bearings. well maybe the outer ones. but they are not listed seperate on o.e.m. parts diagram. my guess is that they are fine anyways.

x's 2 on the leakdown test!
Try the Wiseco wrist pins, 3 of them weigh within a couple of grams of only 2 stockers! With 4200 miles all 3 pistons were .002 under spec., but it had been run hard...
By the way, my next door neighbor"s 800 seadoo ran great right up until it blew the rod out of the cases, but it still looked good. Also the neighbor across the street had a wicked fast 800 Mach Z that blew rods out of 3 engines before he gave up on it. These were both about 6 years old, and not rebuildable.
Having a house on a lake for 24 years has taught many lessons on which manufacture's toys last.
