my track on my sx500r has about two to three stud pull throwes and my dads articat :o| has about 15 to 20. should we replace the tracks???? :dunno: :dunno: :?: :(

Your track is fine! Mine is just like that on my SRX- lugs are great but has a few picks that have pulled through- it's not like the track is going to fall apart. Sounds like your dad's track is throwing picks often, wouldn't want to shoot one through that heat exchanger!

Yours should be ok for a bit. Your dads though sounds like its time. Once you start throwing that many studs the track is getting old and weak IMO. My viper threw a few last year so hoping to get through this year and replace next summer.

Echo ^^^ there's no denying tracks are a wear item, it sucks that they are so expensive!

SXR500 ALL ON OUTSIDE (ONLY 2 OR 3)

ARCTIC CAT 550 COUGAR DLX ALL OR MOST OUTSIDE STUDS ARE GONE :o|

I DID NOT KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS WERE ASKING AT FIRST!

Oh okay, it happens! And your track is fine, your dad's I would not feel safe on!

SRX500kid,
Might want to take the rest out of yours on the outside. The holes left will be fine and then you dont have to worry about pull throughs with those. My 04 was studded on the outside when i got it and that was the first thing i did was pull those.

That might be a bit excessive with only a couple pulled through, my SRX 700 is the same: studded on the outside as well with a few picks pulled through. It's more of an issue with a higher hp sled. Still not a bad idea to preserve the track for years to come, unless he plans on replacing it in the near future.

Don't mean to hijack, but did you get the links to work in the technical pages super?

Yeah I ran across the same question with the Yamaha I just rebuilt. The track had about 7 pull troughs. Most of were on the outside belts...

It comes down too what kind of luck you have. If your lucky you wont have any problems for many miles.

But as you know the pull troughs create a weak spot in the track.

I opted for a nice used track for the rebuild. Good luck with your sled!!

I would have to agree with the other posts. Your track is probably fine...your dads may need to be replaced...???
